I tried to keep up with Jules' pace as I climbed over trees that has fallen down long ago. She says she saw a carving in a tree and she thought it was so important she had to show me.

"Jules, why are we out here?" I asked with an exasperated sigh. "I saw this carving in a tree and its so awesome," she explained.

I huffed and rolled my eyes. Awesome. "Dude, I have home work I have to be doing," I say as I climbed over amother tree. "What teacher?"

"Mr. Harris."

"Eh. Blow it off. He's a dick," she responded with a sour face. I laughed and shook my head lightly. She is right. He is a dick. He gave Stiles and Scott detention one time when Scott was the one getting beat up.

I decided long before I started to go to high school, I would do my work and stay on his good side if I wanted to live to see another year. I'm actually in my Senior year of high school and Scott and Stiles are in freshman college.

I wasn't paying attention and I ran into Jules, who stopped for some unknown reason. "Jules, what the hell," I mumbled. "Its gone," she whispered. "What's gone?" I asked. "The carving," she answered.

"So...?"

"So someone... covered it up somehow," she said and turned to me. "Well. Since it's not here, we can go home now, right?" I asked with a smile. "No. Maybe it's on a different tree, " she mumbled and walked away. "Oh, good lord," I groaned in an irritated voice.

I contemplated whether or not I should turn around, go home and do my chemistry homework or I should follow her.

Sighing, I decided to follow her. Probably a stupid decision but I can't let her get herself hurt. We walked through the woods until we stopped at the Hale house.

"Hi, girls," a male voice said from behind us. We jumped and turned around to see a man there. He was so handsome. He has light brown hair and blue eyes. He's wearing a white v- neck t- shirt with jeans and boots.

"Are you two lost or something?" He asked as he walked towards us. "Um... no. Not really," I laughed nervously. "My friend said she saw a..."

"Carving of a symbol in a tree?" The man interjected. "Yeah," I say in a low voice. "Well, it's not here anymore," the guy said. "Apparently," Jules mumbled. I bumped her with my elbow. "Well, we better get going. It was nice to meet you Mr..."

"Peter Hale."

"I'm Josette McCall and this is Julianna Stilinski," I say with a smile. "Wait... Hale. You own this house?" Jules asked as she pointed to it. "Owned. It was my family's but it burnt down in a fire long ago. There were a few survivors, including me," Peter responded.

I felt bad for him. He lost his family in a tragic fire. "Well, we better get going. Some of us has homework we have to get done," I say as I looked at Jules. She rolled her eyes and sighed. "Nice meeting you Peter."

"You too, Josette," he smiled. "Oh, uh, it's actually Josie," I corrected. "Josie. I'll see you sometime whenever, I guess," he said.

My heart fluttered as I gave him a smile and walked away.
