Jessica's pov
I somehow sneaked out of the apartment and reached the bakery Smiley told me to come. Tomorrow is not only Valentine's day but also Sravanthi's birthday. To surprise her, me and Smiley planned to wish her midnight. But I didn't want to bother Moses as he came late today. Why should I disturb his peaceful sleep?
I was losing my patience. Why won't I? It is 11:30pm and the cake is not yet ready. Smiley practical the sleeping man to bake the cake. God!! It is too frustrating.
Finally!! The baker has completed decorating the cake. The yummy chocolate cake with a touch of cherries is making me salivate. If it was not for Sravs, I would have had a taste of it. Looks like even Smiley is controlling herself. The baker with with 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY SRAVANTHI' with white cream.
After packing the cake in the box, the baker gave us the cake. He even demanded Smiley for extra money for his service.
"Come on Smiley, don't put that face after dragging him for sleeping." I scolded her.
"Why should I give him extra when he slept like gorilla without delivering the cake on time? She gave me 'not gonna spare look'
"Madam, I made atleast the cake now. Please madam!" the baker pleaded.
As usual Smiley melted like ice cream. She gave him the money. By the time we came out of the bakery, it was 12:00!!!!!. Me and Smiley got alarmed by seeing the time. Wasted our surprise. Why I called it surprise is because not all people know Sravs real birthday. In her certificates her birthday is on April 9th. Only her close people know this truth and she doesn't know we found out her secret.
"Now what do we do? I asked with a sad face. I couldn't even wish my friend as planned.
"Don't worry. I am sure that sleeping beauty will not even care about time infornt of this mouth watering cake." this brought a smile on my face and it is true Sravs is a chocolate lover.
"Then let's hurry before her phone pops with a birthday notification."
By the time we reached the apartment Smiley and Sravs live, it is 12:15am. Craaaappp!!!. I parked my scooty in their parking space and hurriedly entered the elevator. The elevator opened with a ping sound.
Reaching the door of their apartment, Smiley opened the door with the spare keys. She turned the knob of the door carefully because even if Sravs' door door from the main door , you have to be careful right.?
We entered entered the house and made our way towards Sravs room. But Smiley suddenly was going towards her room.
"Hey Why are you going to your room?" I asked her.
" I forgot my phone in my room. Don't you want to take pics of Sravs' face dipped full of chocolate?" She asked me 'isn't it necessary' look. And she has logic.
We entered her room and she started searching for her phone. God!! This forgetful girl. "Girl , I don't remember where I kept it. You have your phone right? She asked me which made me search my pockets. Crapp!!
"Looks like I also forgot...but no biggy. We can take pics from her phone right?
She gave me 'are you serious' look but had no choice. As we came out of Smiley's room, we had some sound in the living room. Did Sravs wake up?
"Looks like I forgot to close the main door." Smiley said frightened. This woman!!!.
As we were comprehending things. We saw a shadow moving making us more frighten. Shit there is someone who entered in the house. But who the hell could it be?
" I think there is a theif Jessi" her words made me blank. I felt someone following us but brushed it of now I have to pay.
"Maybe we should go and see." I suggested.
" No, what if he has a gun or something?" she has that bloody logical brain even in such situation.
The shadow neared towards our direction. Smiley and I quickly hid behind a wooden cupboard which is opposite to Sravs' room. I guess she is sleeping soundly not knowing the danger.
"See he even has a knife" Smiley said looking at the shadow. Oh my God!! Is he a serial killer.
"Jessi I think I saw this theif somewhere." she said peeping from behind the cupboard. I was totally blank to even pay attention to her.
"I saw him......yes I saw him in your phone" What the hell?
"In my phone?"
"Yes.... I don't remember.....got it he is your husband" She said without glancing at me in deep thought looking at the theif.
Moses!!!
I also saw peeped to see only to be shocked to the core.
"Pruthvi!!!" me and Smiley said in unison.
