Arlo's POV:

It's Sunday morning and I'm setting out to the grocery store.
"Ahhh where did I put the keys?" I say under my breath.

I reach into each of my pockets when finally they fall out of my pocket and onto the floor.

Crouching down I reach for my keys and lock the door.

The store is about 5 minutes from my apartment which is very convenient.

Going out is such an effort I wish someone was here to buy groceries for me. I should hire someone to do it for me...

Actually nevermind I'm broke.

I came to a crossing and waited for the lights to go green. I took a step forward not realising the car moving towards me at a rapid speed.

Once I noticed the car I knew it was too late, so I stood there awaiting my death.

"I can't be bothered to move. I won't make it anyways. I guess this is the end..." I thought.

But I was abruptly taken into someone's embrace. And before I knew it I was on top of a man on the side of the road... Alive.

He's holding me tight, with my head against his chest. I can hear his racing heart beat as if it was trying to escape from his chest.

I can feel his heavy breathing on the top of my head.

We had being lying there for a good few minutes until he spoke up.

"A-are you okay?" He said.

I got up on my feet and nodded followed by him standing up.

Now that I have taken a good look at him he also seems to be in high school.

His hair is pure black and a little long.

He has a good figure. What sport does he play?

He has piercings on his lips, his ears, and his eyebrow.

"That must have hurt to get..." I say quietly.

"Huh, did you say something?" He says. "Anyways, I'm Xion. You?"

"Arlo." I reply.

"Well Arlo, be careful next time if it wasn't for me you'd be seriously injured. Now... How will you thank me?"

I hate people like this. Why should they expect something when anyone would save someone from getting hit by a car...

I grab his hand and take out a pen from my pocket. I then begin writing down digits onto his hand.

"My phone number. Call me when I can take you out for dinner. You did save me after all." After I say this I walk away from him nudging his shoulder as I walk past him.

~Grocery store~

I walk through the automatic doors and grab I trolley. I walk around the store leaning on the handles of the trolley.

This is so tiring... I want to sleep...

Barely keeping myself awake I make it to the checkout and wait for the woman to scan the items.

The wait makes me sleepy so my eyes close.

"Cash or card?" She says "Sir? Hello?"

She taps me on the shoulder.

"Ahh sorry..." I say as I pull my wallet out from my pocket and take out the right money.

I hand it to her and she puts on a smile. Her smile doesn't look genuine I hope she's okay. I nod and walk out the store with the heavy bag of groceries. Now I have to walk home... Ughhhhh

~Arlo's apartment~

I finally make it home with a bag of groceries. I set it down on the counter not bothered to put them away and flop myself onto the couch.

"I wonder if there's anything good on..." I say to myself as I flick through the channels.

I ended up giving up and going to my room to take a nap.

That nap ended up going through to the morning.
