I glanced at the left wall spotting a clock to tell me the time. 9:37. I noticed Kayla fell asleep a while ago, I shook her slightly waking her up just enough so she would be able to go back to sleep when she reached her bed. I waved my hand in front of her face to get her attention. I’ll check your homework, if you get something wrong I’ll just fix it for you. I moved my hands slowly, quite tired myself. she nodded, bringing her fingers to her chin and extending them back to me, saying thank you and giving me a hug. I kissed her forehead bidding her a good night. I walked to the kitchen table and spread her papers out. Her english and history checked out but her math was a little rocky, better than last nights but still had some trouble with it. I corrected the problems in her handwriting. making a mental note to help her with her homework tomorrow night. I can forge her words and numbers perfectly. It sounds horrible but it was a skill I needed to learn. I know my parents writing also. I used to write notes to my sister in their writing after they passed. It gave her comfort reading them even though she knew they were my words. I gave her remaining papers a once over making sure they were all in order. I tucked her assignments in her bag and zipping it shut. I finish turning the lights off and enter my room closing the door. I flopped on my bed putting my glasses on the nightstand. Now partially blind, I looked around my room with everything in order till I saw my comic books we in disarray. I gasped in horror. Captain America lying lopsided on the top of my stack. Oh no. Spider Man was backwards. The pages are meant to face in not out! I groaned putting my glasses back on. “Who did this?” My thinking fogged momentarily. “Oh yeah, me” I recalled on the rush job I did after knocking the stack over while leaving this morning. after I fixed my ever growing stash of comic books, I took a step back making sure they were neat and orderly. I smiled walking back to my bed, proud of my handy work. I slipped under my covers placing my glasses on the exact spot where they needed to be. I realized how much my OCD has taken over my life. I mentally shrugged my body too tired to actually do so and fell into a deep sleep. In my dream, I was back in the locker room about to make a run for it. reliving the events of yesterday. My subconcious changed how the ending really happened. I woke up to my alarm piercing my dream like stupor. I remembered my dream. Axel didn’t punch me, he...kissed me. I cringed feeling like I want to vomit just thinking about it. I sat up stretching. As I got up, I caught a glimpse of my disheveled figure walking like a zombie out the door. I walked into Speedy’s room and shook her. She was being quite stubborn trying to dismiss me with a wave of her hand. After a couple moments of this I bent down and blew in her ear. She shot up like a bullet. She glared at me Cheap shot. Extremely cheap shot, book. I looked at her. She looked ridiculous with her hair seeming to be anywhere but on her. I smiled and replied, sorry speedy! I love you! I gave her a quick kiss on the top of her head as she stuck her tongue out at me as I left. I opened the fridge realizing I needed to go shopping. I opened the crate of eggs and pulling four out. I heard the shower turning on knowing Kayla was on track. I took a glass bowl from the cupboard and turned on the stove. I placed the frying pan on top of the blue flame. The color reminded me of the glow that emanated of Axel’s chest yesterday. I shook my head clearing the thought from my memory. I flipped the eggs not even realizing they were cracked and in the pan. Speedys foot steps echo from the hall. Towel on her head rubbing her scalp. I plate the eggs walking towards the table my pace quickening as she set the wet towel down on the wooden surface. I set down the eggs down and looked at her in a panicky way. I wave my hands. “Not on the table Kayla! I told you this already! ugh gross!” I sign and say as I lift the towel with two of my fingers and throw it in the hamper down the hall. I walk back into the kitchen with my hands shaking in front of me washing them vigorously. I sit down and look at Kayla as she rolls her eyes at me. you and your OCD, book. Not cool Speedy. Not cool. It was my turn to stick my tongue out at speedy causing her to chuckle. Finish getting ready okay Kayla? I signed to her as I finished my eggs and brought the plate to the sink rinsing it quickly. I looked in my closet picking out a dark shirt to cover the blue if it happens again. Axel is definitely doing the same. I grab my towel and head to the shower.
