Oh no. Ida looked terrified. Sebile was gonna break up with her, she just knew it. She couldn't handle it. Not after this long. She loved her. She Sebile so deeply.
"What?" Ida said, trying to sink the lump in her throat. She prepared herself mentally for what was coming. Trying to look normal. Trying hard not to cry. Ida closed her eyes for just a second and when she opened her eyes again Sebile was on her knee.
"Will you marry me?" Sebile smiled. Ida put her hands to her mouth in shock. She didn't realize she was crying. But she wasn't trying to hold it in anymore. It was happy tears.
"Yes, yes!" Ida kept repeating it, still not knowing what to do with herself. Sebile grabbed Ida around the neck and leaned in and kissed her. It felt just the way it had felt back at that party. Ida remembered it. She really loved Sebile with her whole heart and more.
