The Quest of the Five Rings

Chapter 2: The Project

    *Hey guys, New plan. Wolf and I decided we were going to upload one chapter every weekend, hopefully. Well enjoy this one and I'm using my mobile so my thumbs hurt really bad from thumping this. Take it easy.

    "Sorry! Sorry I'm late!" An all to familiar voice said to the group of friends as the bell rang and the library door swong shut.

    It was just Justin.

    Kat just rolled her eyes as Justin took a seat next to Sadie as she shushed him. Jay and Zach chuckled quietly at him and Jay asked "What took you so long?"

    Justin scratched the back of his neck and sighed, "Mr. Polochie kept me in again, something about a paper?"

    Zach chuckled again and said "Slacker." Justin just laughed, holding up his hands innocently, "I'm not going to argue with that."

    The group broke up laughing and the librarian shushed them from behind her desk.

    Justin was indeed a 'slacker'. With not turning things in, not studying or doing well on tests either. But somehow he manages to get good grades, pass everything and get out of trouble. Justin had dark brown hair and devilish reddish brown eyes. Just like Kat, he wore dark clothing, but unlike Kat, he doesn't stand out.

   After the group finally calmed down after being threatened to get kicked out of Study Hall and do school work, Zach sigh and asked, " What do you guys think of the new project in History?"

    A loud groan came from the group and Kat rolled her eyes, thinking All that stuff they teach us now a days is totally -
    Kats thoughts got interrupted by Jay, "Pointless, useless, a load of scrap." Kat nodded, Jay reading her mind and the others nodded to, everyone but Sadie who puffed her cheeks up in disapproval.

    "Agreed," Kat replied to Jay, "But I gotta do it or my mum will have my hide." Her friends faces fell and, once again, they all nodded.

    Justin cleared his throat and but his black combat books up on the table, hands behind his head. "Well, I ain't gonna do it."

    "What?!" Sadie exclaimed, mouth wide open. "But you have to do it! Greek mythology is like a very important part in the world history!" Justin just snickered, "How so?"

   Grouns were Inc again passed around the table of friends and Kat put her head down in her hands and goaned, "Here we go again..."

    "Well..." Sadie started, clearing her throat and leaning forward. "They invented a lot of things we use today. Examples? Well there's the indoor plumbing, like sinks. Different types of architecture. Cement, coins, light houses, maps - "

    "Okay, okay..." Justin interrupted, aiming an annoying great Sadie, "I get it"

    Zach cracked his knuckles and stretched out as he promoted, "What if we worked on it together?" Everyone looked at him and Kat raised her head to see him. Zach just shrugged, "We all have the to do it on the same thing, so... why not?"

    Everyone exchanged glances, then they all looked over at Sadie, she and they knowing that she was going to be doing most of the work.

    She sighed heavily, making the group smile and said harshly, "....Fine."

    Zach leaned back in his chair as everyone looked and nodded at him. "What even is the topic we have to do?" Jay asked, confused.

    "Haven't you been listening?" Sadie ask, and Jay just shook his head smiling. Sadie sighed and explained, "each person has to do a report on the Greek Gods and Goddesses. You know, like Zeus, Poseidon, and Hade -"

    Suddenly Kat's world went black and her body went limp as she fell to the floor. "KAT!" Jay exclaimed, forgetting everything and running over to her, but it was to late.

    Kat squeezed her eyes shut tight, but slowly opened them only to see herself surrounded by complete darkness. She tried to walk, but her feet where glued to the floor. She tried to scream, but nothing came out... She was trapped.

    Kat reached her hand out and flexed her figures, only to pull them back and jump from a male, cold, and raspy voice. "...Kat..." The voice sent a chill down her spine. "...Run..."

    Suddenly, something ran right at her, Kat tried to move but she couldn't, and the object went right through her.

    The darkness surrounding Kat faded into a new scene, and she was falling down the mouth of an active volcano.

    Once again, the Titan rises,

    A new voice said from all directions as Kat fell. It was feline and old sounding, like a fortune tellers. The scene, changed again and Kat was now looking up at a cloudy mountain, a golden gate resting at the top of its peak.

    To take revenge on those he despises.

    Everything went back to the black abis, and Kat counted five rings come out of no where and started to slowly circle her.

    Five Rings hold the power,

    Kat was now standing in a street, the town around her was on fire, the sky was black with smoke and people ran around screening, but the voice clearly continued.

    To restore the peace of those who cower.

    Suddenly, Kat was once again was engulfed by the darkness, and as the feline voice spoke, the Rings came back, one by one.

    Shall they be found in their domain,

    All the Rings then slowed down from their circling and their gold color faded, and they started to disappear.

    Or shall they stay there and remain.

   Kat was now back at the volcano, but this time she was standing at its edge, boiling leave down below her.

   The one sacrificed shall be claimed,

    Now her friends were standing at the edge with her. Zach, Jay, Justin, and Sadie all smiled at her and one by one, they jumped off the edge and into the lava. Kat tried to stop them but she couldn't.

    The one you call best shall go up in flame.

    Out of nowhere a scream and cries of bloody murder echoed off of the walls of the volcano and everything was starting to shake viciously.

    But in the end, one shall be broken,

    Kat looked up as her spine gave off another chill and didn't like what she saw. Darkness was creeping its way in from the mouth of the volcano.

    And the Rain of Darkness...
    The rapidly shaking of the volcano all most made her fall in, and Kat tried to scream for help, but she couldn't, and she tried to run but her feet still wouldn't move. The Darkness came at her and as she fell into the red hot magma, the voice finished,

    ...Shall be awaken...
    Everything went black.

    "...Kat... wake up..."
