3rd POV
Reki went home after his fight with Langa, he can't believe that he broke their promise. He doesn't attend 'S' anymore, knowing that even his friends will make fun of him. "You're not Langa!", "loser!", "He's the redhead that's always with Snow", "He's not as good as Snow" Those words keeps circling in his head.
He regret bringing Langa to 'S', he regret ever teaching him how to skate in the first place. He's been skating for way longer than Langa, and yet Langa was so much better than him. It hurts.
It hurts knowing you've been doing something way longer than the other person has and how you work your ass off, blood and sweat, to be better. And yet, someone who started doing it recently is way better than you, it's frustrating. He is aware that Langa has been snowboarding for 14 years, but it's just frustrating to see him so good at skateboarding in a matter of months while he takes years. It may be wrong to feel that way about your friend, but when Langa said to him that he feels 'excitement' while skating against Adam meanwhile he felt fear, it hurts him.
Especially with his experience with his old friend, he doesn't want Langa to get injured. That's why he made him promise not to skate against ADAM again, but there he was doing it anyway, breaking their promise.
That part hurts him the most, losing your trust in someone who you're closest with and who you trusted the most.He doesn't hate Langa, in fact he's proud of him. He hates himself.
He hates himself for not improving, he hates himself for not trying hard enough, he hates himself for holding Langa back, he hates himself for not being as good as Langa, he hates himself for not being a skater that Langa would feel excited to skate with like ADAM.He's the one who taught Langa to skate, he wanted to be recognized for it. But no one knew who he was, he's just known as 'The red head next to Snow'.
He couldn't seem to bring out his true skating skills on 'S', why? Well because it's not combat matter. He was used to only using his skateboard to fight and kill that he could only use it for missions only.
Every time he tried to bring it out he can't, his instincts and body wouldn't let him. It's like a whole different persona that only came out when he's doing gang matter, it won't come out if it's not.And he tried, a billion times. But he couldn't seem to do it, he couldn't bring out those skills in a regular setting, his body wouldn't cooperate.
If anything, he would just crash because he was pushing himself. The next day Reki ignored Langa for the rest of the day, in fact he ignored everybody. He just sat alone with his headphones blocking everyone out, he couldn't even look anyone in the face anymore.
After school, he walked home alone, his headphones still blocking everyone out. His thoughts were cut short when his music was cut by a phonecall, he looked at the contact number 'unknown', he walked into a dark alley and take the call.Unaware that 2 people were following him, actually he was are that they were following him, he just decides to ignore it. It's not like they'll catch up to him, they're not as trained as he is.
Specifically, Langa who was following him, and Joe who just got off of work and bump into Langa.
"Hello?"
"It's been a while huh? Crimson. How's your father?"
"Cut to the chase, who's the target, what did they do, name your price."
"Alright blunt are we? His name is Tonpa Kurito, he raped and robbed 50 people in 2 weeks, how about 30,000?"
"You gotta do better than that, 1,000,000?"
