Mute Aala and Calypso

Aala POV-
Another day in this shit for show school. As I walk in the hallways, I see people left and right talking to each other, happy, smiling. Show-offs. I am mute. I know I know, “You poor thing how sad” SHUT UP. Yes, it is really annoying to not talk at times and gets me bullied A LOT, but other than that its not bad, and I hate pity, like get out of my life. So many people think I am some shy, quiet, meek girl. I am very loud just not in the way people would expect. As I round the corner, I run into something. As my head smacks another I fall down, my back catching my fall. Owie. I rub my head and open my misted over eyes, looking to see the perpetrator. I look up to see a girl intensely staring at me. I give her the ‘what’ look. She stares even more. Okay I have an excuse for not talking but what’s hers, not even an apology? She then goes from intensely staring at my face and eyes to looking my whole body up and down, her short curly hair slowly moving. Is she checking me out? I cannot miss this chance. I get up and smile at her as she continues to stare. After a while she just grabs my hand and pulls me along to follow her. Great now I am being kidnapped.
As I am getting dragged along my stomach growls. It is lunch you know…The mystery girl looks back at me at the sound of my stomach growling and nods to herself. She then pulls me into the lunchroom and makes me sit down at a table full of guys. They all stop talking for a second, look at us then our hands and slowly smirk. “Wow that doesn’t take you long Calypso, I know you have been obsessing over her nonstop for a year now but isn’t this the first time you met?” the guy with short black curly hair spoke. I’m sorry what? Did he just say obsessing over me for a year? I have an incredulous expression on my face and the girl- now known as Calypso just stares blankly at him before pulling me down onto the seat next to her.
She ignores them and pulls out her lunchbox then gets her fork. I’m still in shock so I sit there not moving. She then stabs a piece of chicken with her fork and holds it up to my lips. I am starving and in shock, so I just lean forward and take it from the fork and swallow. Calypso still has a blank face but looks happy, nodding to herself again, still not talking.
The guys at the table all go silent and watch us with a dumb smile on their face, looking like kids watching their favourite animal perform at the zoo. I was getting very uncomfortable and starting to fidget, reaching for my notepad and pen to write something. Calypso saw this and glared at the boys. They just laughed and went back to looking, still giving us side glances. Calypso ignores them and continues to feed me her lunch. Seeing her almost empty lunch box I pull mine out and push it towards her, feeling bad for eating all her food. She just stares at it then me, then tilts her head. So cute. I get my notepad and write on it. ‘Its for you, since I ate all your food’ I write. When I finish writing it I show it to her and scratch the side of my face, sweat dropping.
She softly smiles and starts to eat some of my lunch while petting my head, like a child. I am not a child why is she doing this. I try to whack her hand away and she just avoids it and continues to pat my head without a care in the world. Eventually the rhythmic petting does a number on me, and I start to feel sleepy, the depths of darkness pulling on me. I lean on her shoulder as she continues to pat my head, staring at me. “You can sleep, I will wake you when we have to go, my dear Aala” is the last thing I hear before I drift off into sleep, unable to say anything back. For a girl who doesn’t seem to talk so much she does have a soothing voice.
