It was far too bright. Bright and hot. To protect herself from the sun, Opal donned a light long sleeved dress with large sunglasses and a big hat. She was as covered as she could be, but despite the shade felt as if she were melting. Sweat clung to her skin like a sheet. No matter how many times she wiped at her face or whatever embarrassing body part was dripping, more sweat took its place. The feeling was absolutely disgusting and it made her clothes cling to her. Shamira had its cool humidity that was refreshing at best and muggy at worst. Casper's Bay seemed to under a wave of choking wetness that threatened to drown her.

"How can you stand it here?" Opal asked as she grabbed a handful of napkins and pressed them to her skin.

Onyx, who'd been on her phone, playing a game on her phone peeked over her sunglasses at her sister. "Vitamin D is good for you."

"Is it supposed to make me feel like I'm burning alive?" Opal asked as she tossed the used napkins onto the table between them.

Her younger twin couldn't help but chuckle at her older sister's discomfort. "And here I thought I was the creature of darkness." At that moment, her number was called and she got up from the table and to the counter.

While she was gone, Opal tried to make herself comfortable to no avail. She finally gave up and waited for Onyx to return. When she did, she set a white cup wrapped in napkins to catch the bright pink liquid that spilled from the coned top. A white spoon and a straw were inserted into the top, showing how to eat it. Unsure of what to make of the food item, she turned to her sister, which had three different colored stripes and was topped with an off white cream. Onyx had taken her spoon and carefully smashed the peaked tip down before scooping a spoonful into her mouth. When she sighed in pleasure Opal hesitantly took her own cup. "What exactly is this?"

"Heaven in a cup. Commonly known at the Casper Bay snowball." She said around her spoon before pulling it out of her mouth and going in for another blissful spoonful. "I guarantee you'll never have anything better."

Hesitantly Opal copied the motions she saw Sony do and scooped a smaller portion of the snowball into her mouth. The first sensation she received was cold—a relief against all the heat. After registering that, she tasted the flavor of the frozen treat. It was fruity, sweet, and indeed heaven in a cup. Her eyes closed behind her sunglasses and she sighed softly. "Oh Shamira, that's good. What is this flavor?"

"Nectar cream," Onyx said around a mouthful of her own. "I thought I'd start you off simple."

The princess nodded her head half listening as she took a more bountiful spoonful to her mouth. She let the flavored snow sit on her tongue a moment longer, before swallowing and glancing to her sister's dessert. "What flavor is that?

"This," Onyx began as she raised her spoon and began to point at the different colors. "Peach," she said pointing at the pale orange stripe, "Cream no Cookie," the off white stripe, "and Tiger's Blood," the red.

"Tiger's...blood?" Opal's spoon was halfway to her mouth, frozen in shock.

Unfazed by the shock, she took another spoonful and lifted a shoulder. "It's like a blood orange and strawberry mix."

"What about that cream on top?" Opal asked unsure of her sister's choices, but glad for her own simple one.

"Condensed milk." She sat while sticking her tongue out and flexing it so that she could see if the color was changed. Her eyes crossed as she looked down her nose and chuckled. "Best condiment ever."

The twins sat in silence as they ate their frozen sweets. It was the first relatively companionable silence they shared since meeting one another. While the two of them had become used to each other's presence, albeit reluctantly, they couldn't exactly say that they liked each other either. They might've shared superficial similarities, but their personalities were what differentiated them from one another. Onyx's temper was quicker to boil over and come down once her anger was released. While Opal's was slower and burned longer. The princess also held her cards closer to her chest, while the earth girl laid hers out for all to see. Despite all that the two of them had to come to a mutual agreement about what they were going to do.
