It's a early Summers morning, the day of Ruby's 16th Birthday. There's Birthday presents sat waiting by the fire place for her; some wrapped in pretty pink paper, some in silver and some even in "16" wrapping paper, a lovely pink "Happy 16th Birthday" banner laid beautifully across the table top of the fire place and a couple of pink balloons waving around with "Birthday Girl" on them. Face it, it looked really beautiful.
As she runs down the stairs, with excitement in her eyes.. she spots her presents!
"MUUUUMM!!" she shouts.
Ruby's mum answers "Yes, Ruby?"
Ruby replies "Can I please open my presents!!"
Her mum replies back "Oh, go on then why not, let me get my video camera".
(Picks up the video camera)
So Ruby's mum takes her into the livingroom, while Ruby's admiring her presents her mum Eileen sets up the video camera.
"Right, cameras ready to roll so you can open your presents. Read the tags so we all know who each present is from.. Gooo!!" Her mum said excitedly.
Ruby reaches for her first present "Okay, so this one is from Auntie Steph & Uncle Steve" she tears off the paper.
"Oh, wow they got me a Eminem jumper!! I love it".
Ruby reaches out for her second present covered in silver wrap. "This one is from you mum" she carefully tears the paper and finds a medium sized Birthday card.
Eileen "Well, aint you going to open it Rubs"
So Ruby carefully opens the evelope and inside she finds a peice of paper , she reads.. "Ruby, Happy 16 Birthday! As its your Birthday, especially as its your 16th I am going to be throwing you a Sweet 16 Birthday party!!! I've invited all your friends you know, I hope you like this .. Love you, Mum xxx". Before her Mum even had time to ask if she was happy about this, Ruby screamed the loudest scream you could ever imagine!!
Ruby's Mum also added "Don't worry about hunting around for an outfit, I've already sorted that!" She said "There's a pink frilly dress hanging on your wardrobe"
As Ruby rushes upstairs her mum shouts up "Party starts soon, people will be coming so get ready!!".
