Riyah giggled giddily as he fiddled with the luminous diamond necklace around his neck. His chubby toddler fingers running his soft skin against the shiny mineral in absent curiosity. His bright green eyes shining with innocent glee as he promptly stuck it in his mouth.
" Riyah! Take that out of your mouth you silly goose." Victoria chided with a amused smile as she took the necklace out of his mouth and wiped it on her long silky violet dress. The beautiful mother set it gently back against his small chest and kissed her baby boy's forehead." Pretty!" Riyah squeaked in a high pitched tone as he wrapped his hand around a long strand of his mother's white blonde hair.
" I think Riyah compliments me more than you do dear." Victoria teased as she felt her husband snake his hands around her waist and pull her close from behind.
" I have been out manned by my own son. How rude of me." The red headed man joked back with a flirty wink.
Jarin pressed his lips to her neck and traced loving kisses down her exposed milky white skin. Victoria let out a laugh and blushed playfully pushing him away.
"Now both of you stop!" She yelped as Riyah tugged her hair again and her husband let his hand slide a little too low.
" Men!" She exclaimed in an exasperated voice. They both stopped and Victoria and
Jarin split ways after a quick peck on the lips to start on the chores.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After 7 years of seemingly normal daily occurrences and typical family matters, everything changed drastically for the loving family. One twist of fate transforming and spiraling into a complicated mess.
The curse caused by one necklace and misconceived words from a conceited witch. Only the necklace had postponed the inevitable.
" Mama! Look what I can do." Riyah proclaimed confidently as he ripped off his necklace once he got his mother's attention away from her laborious chores.
His body was immediately immersed in a green aura and he was lifted a foot off the ground. His emerald green eyes sparkling and his messy white blonde hair rustling from the powerful magic.
Riyah's nose transformed into a long scaly snout and his body contorted from human to a monster. Luminous silver white scales rippled across his now reptilian form and a long three pronged tail swished back and forth in adolescent excitement. Sharp grey horns protruded from the top of his head. His eyes still looked innocent and full of life, not villainess or evil at all.He wasn't human anymore.. The curse.. It meant he would have to live forever as a dragon. That's what Helena had schemed.
Victoria's face twisted In horror as she watched her baby turn into a beast. She blindly grabbed the nearest kitchen appliance in defense against her very own child, a butcher knife.
" G..get a..away. M..monster!" The terrified mother screeched as she held the weapon shakily in front of her with quivering hands.
" Mama?" Riyah questioned after he had used a long talon to hang the necklace back around his long dragon neck.
A green flash of light erupted again around the 7 year old shapeshifter and he was back to human form.
" M..m..monster." Victoria managed her face still frozen with fear and the knife still wavering at her little boy.
But this wasn't her little boy anymore. In her eyes he was only a foul creature spawned from witchcraft, from Helena.Jarin rushed in when he heard the commotion only to see his wife threatening their wide eyed son.
" Victoria! Put the knife down. What the hell is going on?" The confused husband said as he wrapped his self around his wife and took the knife away.
Victoria didn't relax her panicked eyes never leaving Riyah her whole body shaking violently. She shook out of her husband's arms and to show her husband their son's curse she ripped off the necklace forcefully.
" N..no. Why..I didn't mean it! " The emotionally hurt young boy cried as the chain tore and fell from his neck.
Riyah had tears streaming down his pallid white face as he transformed back to a white dragon.
Jarin gasped In fright and reverence as his son turned into a monstrosity in front of his eyes.
He held up the knife keeping his hand wrapped around the terrified blonde woman. They didn't see a beloved son anymore. The former parents only saw a dangerous mystical creature that intended to harm them.
" Leave! Foul beast. We caused this upon you but we did not know the effect. We are sorry dear beloved now passed. Our son is dead." Jarin hissed his voice low in defensive fury. He pushed the necklace back towards the dragon.
Riyah stood stunned. Hot tears rushed down his face as he returned back to human form. His tiny fists clenched and his face scrunched in desperation.
" Leave! I'll kill you!" Jarin bellowed taking a threatening step forward blade in hand. Victoria only sat numbly on the floor head in her palms.
Riyah stumbled backwards his sight clouded by thick tears. He sprinted out the door and away from his so called "loving" family. The brisk cold air hit him like a brick to the head, fast and brutal. He shivered and blindly let his feet carry him as far away as possible.
Thick snow covered the ground and with every foot fall his shoes would sink slightly.Stumbling with no sense of direction the 7 year old disowned curse ridden boy ran and ran.
" I.. I.. Didn't mean i..t." Riyah stuttered his breath clouding as it escaped from cracked pink lips.
Tripping he fell face first into the snow before getting back up determined to find safety. After running for what seemed like hours he came across a large cave obscured by feathery bushes hiding it away from the harshness of the world.
The blonde scrambled inside and curled up into a ball on the freezing stone ground. It was much warmer than the bitter cold outside.
" I..m n..ot.. A monster, Mama.."
He managed the tears almost frozen on his cheeks and his eyes full of longing. He felt his eyelids droop in exhaustion against his will and he drifted into a deep mind numbing sleep with only incessant nightmares to comfort him.
