kiss at midnight

Franks pov

I was starting to regret staying up till midnight, sure in was new years eve, but im so Gods damn bored. Whats the point anyways, its not like I'm gonna kiss anyone at midnight, which is something I might have been complaining about all might, and possibly for the last week.

I was standing in the corner of the party I was at, alone like always. Leo walked over, well more like skipped over. "So Frankie, you excited for the new year?" The other boy say in the that cocky tone that takes me wanna punch him. "Don't call me that." I say grufflly

"Aww, why not?" He said his voice absolutely dripping with sarcasm, "and you didn't answer my question, you excited?" He said with a sparky tone.

I looked other the boy, his face was twisted into a lopsided grin. His curly brown mop of hair seemed to be extra messy today. I can see his weirdly pointy ears poking through. His eye are the color of hot chocolate. Overall he was fucking adorable, which is a thought I really wish I wasn't thinking.

"No, im alone and I know there not doing it on purpose, but it feels like everyone is rubbing the fact they have partners in my face." I say my voice is calm and steady but I can feel a mix of anger and guilt because of that anger tieing a knot in my stomach.

"Welcome to my world." Leo mutters sadly, its weird I don't think I've ever seen leo sad before, and at the moment looks so numb and dead inside like he doesn't rember what its like to be happy, then his face shiftes and Suddenly he smiling that same goofy lopsided grin. But it was so fake, it was the same grin but now I could see just how fake it is, it was just a mask.

"Now you know what it was like for me on the quest." Leo said in. A snarky tone I now notice is fake, "I've never thought about that before, it must've sucked being the only single on one the quest." 

"Yeah, being a seventh wheel was horrible." Leo said like it was some joke, he looks like he's about to say something else when suddenly everyone starts counting down. "Midnight and im alone great" I mutter to myself

Leo looks over, "well im here" he says slightly less snarky. "thats not what I meant" my voice calm and collected and slightly sad. Everyone was chanting so loudly we almost can't hear echother.

Leo looks at me and mutters something to himself, he grabs my shirt and pulls me down to him, right as everyone yells one are lips collided. I slowly brought a hand up the leos cheek as I deepen the kiss, slowly we pull away and Leo smiles softly but this is a real smile not the fake ones from earlier.

"happy new year" Leo practically wispers before pulling away and leaving the party. Standing there I feel my face flush and a smile tug at my lips, mabye it was worth it to stay up till midnight.
