"Rise and shine, Jeremy-Bear." A soft, sweet voice could be heard next to a 9-year-old Jeremy's bed. Jeremy slowly opened his brown eyes to see his mother, kneeling next to the bedside with a gentle hand on his shoulder.

"I got the day off today!" She whispered, excitedly. Jeremy sat up, smiling. "I was thinking... Would you like to stay home with Mommy today?" She stood up and climbed into bed next to him, as he giggled. "We're gonna do a bunch of fun stuff, since Keith had to work today."

"I'd love to stay home!" Jeremy replied happily, wrapping his arms around her neck in a hug. She laughed, hugging him in return. "Okay, go brush your teeth. I'm making pancakes for breakfast." She kissed his cheek before leaving the bed and the room.

Once he had finished brushing his teeth, he begun to brush his soft brown hair to the side, using a stool to see in the mirror.

Soon, he made his way down to the kitchen. Keith already left, which was a relief to him. He loved mornings with just him and his mom. She would turn on her radio and start listening to Michael Jackson, her melodious voice echoing through the house.

Keith hated singing, so Jess never did it around him. He thought it was too cliche. Jeremy loved his mother's voice, though, and always took any opportunity to hear her sing.

Jess set a plate of pancakes down, Michael Jackson's Thriller was blasting through her radio. She was humming along, with a happy grin.

Jeremy took a bite of the fluffy deliciousness, and gasped. "Mommy, these are really good! I thought you didn't remember how to make them."

Jess sighed for a moment. "It was a family tradition I had. Hard to forget. I'll teach you someday, hm?" She ruffled his hair. "I'm sorry I can't be around in the day more often, baby boy."

"It's okay. I know you have to work."

"You're getting along okay with Keith?"

Jeremy coughed, causing him to choke for a second on a pancake he was eating, then he quickly swallowed.

"Oh my god, are you okay?!" She ran over to him, and grabbed his hand.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I think I'm good on pancakes..." He would laugh a bit, trying to distract her so he wouldn't have to answer the question.
I wouldn't be lying if I didn't answer... Right...?

Jess nodded. "It's okay. Go upstairs and get dressed, I'll clean up and then we can leave."

"But doesn't Keith have the car, Mommy?"

"We can walk." She grinned, her eyes sparkling. Jeremy smiled and ran upstairs and hurried to put some clothes on.

Soon, they were both walking down the road, Jess holding Jeremy's hand when they crossed the streets. Though, for the most part, there wasn't many cars.

As the two went up the street to start off at the town arcade, a certain restaurant caught the eye of Jeremy.

"Mommy, look! It's Freddy Fazbear's!"

Jessica looked over, gasping and scooping Jeremy up. "Mommy? What's wrong?"

She started speed-walking to the arcade, back turned to Freddy's.

"We are never going there. Never."

"Why?" He asked softly. Jess sighed and softened up a bit, setting him down.

"I... It's just a bad place. An accident happened at a similar location once, a couple years ago, and I don't want that happening to my son." She would sigh shakily.

He looked to the ground for a second, but then looked back up. Soon, they arrived at the arcade and began to play.

{June, About a month later.}

It was early in the morning, and Jeremy was excited. He had just gotten off the phone with his friend, Fritz, who had told him Gabriel invited him to a party they were having at 2 p.m. for Gabriel's birthday at Freddy's.

He had to ask his mom, and he knew how much she didn't like the pizzeria. He didn't know why. It was so full of life, and fun. He loved watching the animatronics play. If only she understood.

He wanted to ask her before she went to work, and she was in the kitchen when Jeremy made his way downstairs.

"Mommy! I have something to ask you."

She hummed, looking over at her son. "Yes, dear?"

"I got invited to a party. It's Gabriel's birthday, and he wanted me to come. All my friends will be there- but... It's at Freddy's. And I wanted to go."

Jess dropped the cup in her hand, gasping lightly. Luckily, it didn't break.

"Jeremy... I told you I didn't want you going there. Especially if I can't be there."

"But Mommy, it's not like I'm gonna be by mysel-"

"Please, Jeremy. The answer is no. I don't want to talk about it anymore." She said, but careful as to not sound too stern.

Jeremy felt a small piece of his heart break, but didn't say anything else and ran upstairs to hide in his room.

Why did she hate it so much? Why couldn't he go? It just wasn't fair.

Later, around 1:30, Jeremy made his way downstairs to make lunch. Keith was on the couch, sharing beers with some... Blonde woman. He gasped, which caused Keith to turn around and look at him.

"Don't you got somewhere to be, little shit?"

"N-No..." He started shaking, gulping.

"That's funny, because I heard you talking to your friend this morning about a party around 2. It's 1:30." He grunted, narrowing his eyes at the smaller child.

"Mommy said I-"

" 'Mommy said this', 'Mommy said that', Grow up!" He yelled. The woman next to him chuckled as Jeremy jumped back.

"Now, get dressed and go to that damn party. Wouldn't want to be late."

Jeremy scampered up, and ran up to his room to quickly change. He didn't want to argue. He didn't want to make Keith angry.

Grabbing his coat downstairs, he dashed out the door and down the street towards Freddy's, his stepfather's maniacal laughing haunting him the entire way.
