I'm sitting in a corner of a restaurant. I have no clue where my parents disappeared to, I'm really terrified all of these people keep trying to talk to me I don't respond and they walk away. Someone gets all the people to leave the restaurant because it's closing time, she comes to the corner where I am and sees me.
"Honey, its closing time?" the waitress says.
"I don't know where my parents went." I say in a voice that I didn't mean any trouble.
"Did they just leave you?" the waitress asks me.
"We just got done hanging with family and went straight to eat." I say shyly.
"Its okay honey I'm not gonna hurt you. What's your name?" she asks.
"My name is Eve." I say.
"Eve, that's a sweet name, why would your parents leave such a sweet girl behind?" she asks.
I don't say anything I just shrug. She helps me up and leads me to the break room and let's me sit on one of the spiny chairs. I watch her talk to one of her co workers. They were both looking for a number or way to contact my parents. I sat there for hours watching them flip through papers and make phone calls, but they came up with nothing. The waitress comes over to me and says...
"We didn't find anything on your parents, do you know anyone else we can call to come get you, don't most teenagers have phones." she says.
"No my mom took my phone away yesterday she said I was using social media too much." I say sadly.
"Well I don't know what else to do for you." the waitress says.
"Oh, well I can just walk." I say.
"Walk where?" the waitress asks curiously.
"I think my moms friend doesn't live too far from here." I say with a lack of confidence.
"I'm sorry I really wish I could help you." she says sadly.
"Thanks anyway though." I say as I head for the door.
"Oh, wait here take my tips from tonight." she says as she reaches out her hand with all of her tips in it.
"Oh, no I can't take your tips." I say feeling bad.
"Please I insit, it's the least I can do." she says.
I take the tips feeling really bad, and slowly walk to the door. Once I open the door I feel the cool breeze of the dark night on my face, and I start walking.
