Ch.2 Freedom

"What the-" I turn around and see this strangely clothed man. With a purple robe on he stood out immensely in this area, or anywhere really.

"Hello Jake, my name is Walt, and I'll be escorting you to your new home."

"Wait a second Walt, how do I know this isn't a joke?" I said incredibly suspicious

He holds up a broom. "get on this and you'll believe me" he said smiling as he got on

I had nothing to lose, so I got on it and yelped as the thing began to float into the air. I indignantly grabbed his shoulders

"Couldn't you use seat belts?!"

"What's the fun in that?" he replied

"Also, what about people seeing us, or is that just fun as well?"

"I have an invisibility cloak, borrowed it from a friend." he tied it in a fashion that, if he was telling the truth of its invisibility, you wouldn't be able to see the bottom of us.

"This way muggles looking up can't see" he said

"Muggles?"

"Non magical people" he replied

"Oh" I nodded "So what is this Hogwarts?"

"As said on your letter, it's a school for witchcraft and wizardry. Right now we're headed there"

"But I'm broke, and this letter said I needed robes and cauldrons, along with other stuff."

"That brings us to why we knew about you. Your uncles name was Elrond, a wizard. before he died he left his fortune to his only relatives, his brother. but he knew his brother, so he left it to you"

"So I have money?"i asked excitedly

"Your uncle was the equivalent of a millionaire by our standards"

"I'm rich, I'm actually rich" I laugh at the thought "but why me? why would he leave it to me?"

"Think. what would your parents have done with that money?"

"Point taken" we flew for the next several hours, until we stopped at a random field

"Here is where we make the easiest part of our trip" he says stretching

"What would that be?"

"Breathe now kid" as I did so he grabbed my arm and my entire world spun
