Forgive me, I played with the timeline a little bit....but I tried to stay as true to the events as possible.

"Hurry, you don't have much time," dad says as he gently cups my cheek. He stares into my eyes for an all too brief moment. I can only imagine what he sees. I've always looked at him with so much love and trust, now I can't help but to look at him with fear and confusion.

"Sweetheart, I don't have time to go into a lot of detail. Just know that I wouldn't send you away if I had even the smallest amount of hope that history wasn't going to keep repeating itself."

The sudden distant screams from outside of the house startle you both and focus you back to the here and now. It seems to be getting louder as though it's getting closer and closer. "If I have to lose you then it's going to be by my hand and not by his."

Tears fill your eyes and fall quickly down your cheeks as you slip the shoulders of the time suit up and into place. "Where am I going? Dad you have to tell me what's going on." Panic fills your voice as your fingers stumble along with the motions of trying to get the dark gloves in place.

"Take this with you," a thick envelope is slid into your suit before it's zipped completely shut.

The noises outside are tremendous now. Is this what war sounds like? Explosions seem to rock the walls around you.

"I love you baby girl, never forget that" your father's arms wrap around you tightly as you hear him begin to break down. But in one quick motion everything changes. With a soft whoosh your helmet rotates into place and the solid strength of your father's arms are suddenly replaced with the sense of falling. Falling through the quantum realm and into the unknown.
