At first sight you would've thought he was a good guy. He worked in a high company that paid well. He had an outstanding record. He was perfect for me after things ended with Jay. He was nice to Isabelle. It honestly was all great.
But of course, that was until reality surfaced
Turns out, he didn't work for any high paying company, though he was highly paid. But with illegal money, and i'm sure he left that part out. And probably first thought would be "why haven't you left him if he's involved in illegal things?" well-
"Whatever you say won't change my mind!"
"Hailey come on-"
"Come on!? Alex whatever you're doing is illegal! And you know damn well i'm a cop! You think that i can just keep quiet knowing what you're doing?!"
"Of course i know! But i'm not going to let you leave!"
"Too bad! I'm leaving!" I said before making my way to the door to go pick up Isabelle and get the hell away from my now ex boyfriend
There was silence for a second while i rushed towards the door
"If you leave, i'll make sure your daughter doesn't see next month" he said in a low, but still bone chilling voice.
I froze.
I slowly turned around and looked him dead in the eyes, while he just grinned "Fine, just don't hurt her"
He held Isabelle as leverage over me, still does. When Isabelle's with Jay he holds meetings at the house. Money laundering for some of the biggest gangs in Chicago. He introduced me as his girl and now i just stand by while he does his meetings. He hasn't really made me do anything illegal yet, and i hope it stays that way. For mine, and Isabelle's sake
