We return to the next morning. Nothing has changed much, except for a few crows pecking at the corpse. Kristie and I investigate the scene. We start with the body. Unidentified. Scratches on the face, one under the left eye barely missing the eyeball itself. Another, a larger one across the right cheek and finally a small but deep cut above the left eyebrow. "We will have to bring it in for autopsy to identify the victim and where the words came from" I inform Kristie, "Yes Ralph. However, it looks like these are dog scratches" She replies "and how do you know that?" I question, "well if you look here here at the larger one across the right cheek, you can see a curve like mark at the impact zone, and as it has torn across the rest of the cheek it has become more damaging, inflicting a lot more pain, just like dogs do when they hunt. This kind of behaviour is less common in household dogs then wild" I nod trying to process how many words she just threw out of her mouth, "So you're saying these were wild dogs?" "In this case, it seems as thought it is,yes." Kristie replies confidently. "Interesting..." I say as I am thinking with a billion questions stuck in my mind.
