Chifuyu slammed the door and ran down the apartment stairs, ignoring his thighs that were aching in pain because of the bruises that were there. He was blinking back the stray tears that were threatening to fall, the lump in his throat making his throat ache. He coughed and finally got outside. He sucked in a large breath and sighed loudly.
"Fuck!" He backed into the wall and slammed his fists into it. The bruises on his hands only made the pain worse. His body slowly dropped onto the floor and he put his head into his knees. His head couldn't stop going to seeing his father passed out onto the couch with a beer bottle in his hand. His mother packing up her things and leaving for good. He never thought the arguments would go as far into his mother leaving. He can't stop remembering how his mother pushed past him without saying a word and walked out the door.
He was frustrated and didn't know what to do. He was at least glad his father would probably stop hitting him. Chifuyu looked a lot like his mother and his father would be put into a bad mood just seeing her so he took his anger out on chifuyu.
Chifuyu was a very composed person. He was able to keep his emotions in check and knew not to let them spill out. He kept everything bottled up and that affected his own self a lot. But sometimes, the screw to the bottle would come off and he would explode with emotions.
He had to let his emotions out in someway. He gripped the grass underneath him and yelled out into his knees. Tears stung the corners of his eyes and as much as he tried to blink them away, the lump in his throat would only grow. He finally gave in and let the tears fall. He sobbed and sobbed, coughing occasionally since he couldn't breathe well from all the sobbing he was doing.
He didn't notice the fast footsteps that were heading his way, he felt someone tap his shoulder and he jolted.
"Chifuyu what the hell happened?" It was baji. Chifuyu was relieved to see him. Baji was the only person who knew about his home situation. Baji would be there for Chifuyu in those countless nights where he would tap on his window asking if they can go for a bike ride in the middle of the night.
Chifuyu couldn't even form proper sentences, he was still crying because of the situation that happened and also happy tears from seeing baji.
He was shaking and could only mumble out some words. Baji crouched down in front of him.
Baji was seen as a tough person in toman, he mainly had a hard personality but he obviously cared for his friends. He has always had a soft spot for them. Especially for Chifuyu. Chifuyu has also helped baji countless times. He can't forget the day when he first met Chifuyu. That was when baji was writing a letter to kazutora who was in jail at the time. From then on they became very close friends and trusted each other a lot. They were captain and vice captain after all. Their fighting styles matched up perfectly, they were the perfect 1st division captains. Baji always tried to not be so hard towards Chifuyu.
"Hey hey take some deep breaths Chifuyu just talk to me when you can," baji frowned since he couldn't really do anything not knowing the situation.
Chifuyu was finally starting to calm down just with baji being in his presence. His 'safe space' Chifuyu explained the best he could what had happened without trying to cry again.
"Fuck I'm sorry I'm being a wimp," Chifuyu said bring up his sleeve to wipe his eyes and the tears that were on his cheeks.
Baji frowned again "Don't say that again, you aren't a wimp. It's okay to cry. He stood up. Chifuyu just looked at him with confusion.
"I'm gonna kill that bastard" Baji clenched his fists.
