There is nothing to do but stare at the strange bracelet around my wrist. Smooth black metal with the round golden jewel. I turn my wrist and note that there is no clasp. I cannot take it off. I have an idea of its purpose but i decide to leave it be for now. There is an open window, but as i approach it, i can see it is not a likely escape route. It seems that i have been placed in the highest tower of the twilight castle.
I sigh and sink onto the window sill, pulling my knees to my chest.
What a brilliant idea, I think bitterly.
I close my eyes and sigh once more, resting my head on my knees.
Hyrule field is spread out below me and my castle stands proud on the horizon. The setting sun cast an orange glow over my kingdom. I smile and attempt to move only to realize I'm frozen in place. It is then that i feel hands on the side of my head. I reach up and touch them. They are large hands, stretching from my ears across the length of my cheeks. I try to scream, but no sound comes out.
"Are you sure you want to hear it, Princess?"
Ganon's voice snakes through my mind and a shiver travels down my spine. He removes his hands and I instantly wish he hadn't.
Distant screams invade my ears. I look to my kingdom in horror, realizing that the orange glow is fire. My kingdom is under attack!
My knees give way and i sink to the grassy hill. What can i do? Hot tears flood my eyes as i watch my kingdom go down in flames.
Ganon kneels at my side and leans close to whisper in my ear.
"You have no idea what i am capable of, Zelda."
I wake with a start, jumping up from the window sill. Residual tears remain in my eyes and i glare at the bracelet around my wrist. He is torturing me. I pace back and forth, contemplating whether or not i should attempt teleportation. My mind made up, i focus on the image of the throne room and wave my arms.
Pain streams from my wrist and throughout my body. I cry out and collapse to the cold stone floor, gripping my head as pressure builds then releases. My body feels weak, as if the energy has been drained from me. My vision is blurry but i hear the door open and footsteps coming toward me.
Ganon leans over me with his hands on his knees. A smirk is plastered on his face. He reaches his hand out and moves the hair from my face.
"You are powerless, Princess. This is how you will repay me. By giving me your kingdom."
"Ganon... I beg of you-"
He lunges for me, grasping my arms and tugging me to my feet.
"Do not address me in such a casual way, Princess. You lost that privilege long ago."
My strength and bravery have returned. I push away from Ganon and glare at him.
"You do not rule me, Ganon. I command you to release me!"
I reach for my sword, but i grasp at air. I look to Ganon. He holds my sheathed sword as if he were examining it. When his gaze meets mine, I find sorrow that strikes me to the core.
"We used to rule together." he says quietly.
My anger dims slightly.
"That was long ago," I whisper.
Ganon closes his eyes then reopens them. He stands tall and his glare returns.
"Long ago indeed, Princess Zelda. Things have certainly changed. Enjoy your time as my prisoner, Princess."
Ganon bows mockingly and heads to the door.
"Lord Ganondorf..."
He turns.
"I beg you, spare my kingdom. Do what you will to me, but leave Hyrule be..."
"Where is the enjoyment in that, Your Highness?"
