I woke up feeling a drop hit my temple repeatedly. Opening my groggy eyes, I look around to see that I'm in the same spot I went to last night; behind the shed. A drop of water from the corner of the small building lands on my forehead. Shit, I have to get to school.

Tying my ripped shirt and buttoning my pants, I make a beeline towards home. I laugh at my wording; home? Yeah it's a house, it's got a roof and a door, but soon, that place will be nothing but a memory. I smile at the thought.

When I get home "dad" is passed out on the ripped green coach that the sits against the wall facing the door. My house is just a mess with furniture lying in the weirdest spots. Putting extra thought into my steps to make them more quiet, I head to my room in the basement. Clothes are all piled in one box that lies next to the lonesome mattress by the water heater. Yup, completely tumblr.

I shrug on a new shirt and brush my teeth in the giant sink and put on some deodorant along with black eyeliner around my eyes. I know, a little over the top but I seriously don't want to be messed with today. I make no attempt to cover up my bruises or clean up the blood on my leg. Everyone at school has seen me worse, and of course they won't say a word if they don't want to lose a finger. The teachers on the other hand, might say something but I'll shrug it off as usual.

I grab my already packed school bag and dash out into the dew infused air.
