Fixing a Broken Heart (McHanzo)

Prologue

It was a warm summer night at the Shimada residence. This was the night where Hanzo Shimada would sneak in to honor his fallen brother, Genji, who he had killed. While Hanzo was preparing his offerings, a mysterious assassin was there hidden in the shadows, watching him.

"You are not the first assassin sent to kill me, and you will not be the last." Hanzo said.

The assassin's cybernetic body suddenly lit up green and jumped down, revealing himself.

"You are bold for coming to Shimada castle, the den of your enemies." the assassin said.

"This was once my home, did you master not tell you who I was?!" Hanzo said angrily as he shot an arrow the the assassin.

"I know who you are, Hanzo." the assassin responded while dodging the arrow. "I know you come here every year on the same day, to risk so much to honor someone you murdered!" the assassin said sternly. He then threw three shurikens at Hanzo.

Hanzo angrily shouted, "You know nothing of what happened!" while dodging the shurikens. He then shot another arrow at the assassin, which missed. The assassin then ran outside, and Hanzo followed in pursuit.

"I know you tell yourself that your brother disobeyed the clan and that you had to kill him to maintain order. That it was your duty." the assassin said.

"That was my duty, and my burden." Hanzo replied, while fireing an arrow at the assassin. "That does not mean I do not honor him!"

The assassin then tackled Hanzo, drawing his wakizashi (his small sword on his lower back) and aimed it at Hanzo's face. Hanzo was able to block the assassin's attack with his bow.

"You think you honor your brother Genji with incense offerings? Honor resides in one's actions.", the assassin said harshly.

"You dare to lecture me about honor?" Hanzo said furiously. He then pushed the assassin off of him and prepared his final attack.

"Ryuuga wagateki wo kurau!" as Hanzo exclaimed those words, two magical blue dragons erupted from his arrow and were targeting the assassin.

"Ryūjin no ken wo kūrae!" the assassin shouted while drawing his katana. A green dragon appeared from his katana ready to defend. Hanzo stared in shock as the assassin summoned the Shimada dragon. The assassin then redirected the opposing blue dragons back at Hanzo in his stunned state. Hanzo then dropped to his knees after the attack.

"Only a Shimada can control the dragons...who are you?" Hanzo asked.

The assassin then dashed forward very quickly, putting his wakizashi to Hanzo's throat.

"Do it then. Kill me." Hanzo said.

There was a brief silence until the assassin said, "No, I will not grant you the death you wish for. You still have a purpose in this life... brother."

"No. How? My brother is dead." Hanzo responded in disbelief. The assassin then removed his mask, revealing himself to be Hanzo's brother, Genji.

"Genji..."Hanzo said as he stood there in shock. "What have you become?"

"I have accepted what I am and I have forgiven you." Genji said as he out his hand on Hanzo's shoulder. "Now you must forgive yourself. The world is changing once again Hanzo, and it's time to pick a side." Genji then held out his hand and said," Would you please aid me in this task of helping the world?". Hanzo was hesitant about helping his brother, but he knew deep down that he hated himself for what he did to his brother and wanted to make amends.

"I will, brother." Hanzo replied while reaching out to shake Genji's hand

"Then follow me and we shall make you an official member of my organization... Overwatch." Genji said. And with that, they went to the overwatch dropship that had brought Genji to Hanamura and were taking off for Watchpoint: Gibraltar. Hanzo didn't know what he was getting into, but he knew that he would do anything to to fix his relationship with his brother.
