Fixing a Broken Heart (McHanzo)

Chapter 1: Recruitment

Hanzo's POV

     We had finally arrived at Watchpoint: Gibraltar and it looked massive. Genji walked with me inside and led me to the office of Winston. He's the head scientist of Overwatch and is the one that initiated the recall.

     Genji came to a halt and put his hand up to stop me. "Wait here while I go tell him about your arrival." Genji told to me. I only stood there for a couple of minutes because Genji came back out soon after.

     "Come on in brother." he said to me. When I went inside I was surprised because the head scientist...was a gorilla.

     "Hi there! I'm Winston, the lead scientist of Overwatch." he said as he held out his hand.

     "I'm Hanzo Shimada. It is a pleasure to meet you." I responded while shaking his hand.

     "I'm going to give you a basic tour of the facility so you can know your way around this big place. Follow me please." Winston said. He then left the room and I followed, with Genji behind me.

     "Here at Overwatch, it is our mission to help the world in great times of need. At the moment, our biggest enemy is the terrorist organization, Talon. They only want war because they believe it will make the world stronger." Winston said. I couldn't believe what the world has come to, with organizations solely set out on destruction. It was disgraceful.

     "But we are fighting back against them and defending the people to keep them safe." Genji said, as he put his hand on my shoulder. After about five minutes of walking we made it to our first stop.

     "Here is the Mess Hall. This is where you will have your meals and be able to socialize. Allow me to introduce you to one of my closest friends." Winston said as he then proceeded to wave over somebody.

     "Hiya love! Name's Lena, nice to meet ya!" Lena said very energeticly and in a thick British accent.

     "I'm Hanzo. It's a pleasure to meet you too." I responded with my normal serious tone.

"If you ever need help with something, let me know and I'll be there in a blink!" Lena said as she left to go socialize with more people. Winston then led us to our next stop, the infirmary.

"This is no normal infirmary brother, the technology is much more advanced. This is how I got my body." Genji informed me. I was very impressed by the technology and also thankful for it since it saved my brother. We walked over to the office of "Dr. Angela Ziegler" the sign said.

"Angela are you available right now?" Winston asked as he knocked on the door.

"Yes, come on in." She said from inside with a soft German accent.

"Hanzo I'd like for you to meet our top doctor here at Overwatch, Dr.Ziegler." Winston said to me.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Dr.Ziegler." I said to her.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, and please, call me Angela." she said.

"Thank you for saving my brother. I am forever grateful." I said to her.

"You're welcome Hanzo. He was a great patient," she said as she walked over to Genji, "and an even better boyfriend.", she said right before kissing his mask and walking out.

"See brother, I was able to find love here, and I hope you can too." Genji said to me. I doubt that because I don't like people very much. I've never really had time to make actual relationships with people, so I've been a loner pretty much my whole life. Next we headed to the training grounds.

"This is where you can practice with your weapon, new gadgets,or even group exercises." Winston said to me. As Winston was telling me more about this place, I got distracted by someone in the training grounds. He had messy hair, a scruffy beard, and dressed ridiculously. He was practicing with a revolver and didn't miss a single shot. He was a little cute though.

"Who is that over there?" I asked Winston pointing over to the stranger.

"That is Jesse McCree." Winston said. "He is an excellent marksman and you can always rely on him in battle." I nodded my head in acknowledgement, while still staring at this "Jesse McCree". Winston then took us to our final stop, the living quarters.

"It's getting pretty late, so make sure to get some good sleep so you can wake up bright and early tomorrow!" Winston said cheerfully. "Goodnight Hanzo, I hope you enjoy being a part of Overwatch." I waved him goodbye as he left to go to his room.

"Goodnight brother. I have a lot of hope in you and hopefully you have some too." Genji said to me.

"Goodnight Genji, thank you for bringing me here." I replied. Genji then left to his room and I went inside mine. I changed out of my kimono and put on some pajamas that were on the dresser. As I layed down and closed my eyes to go to sleep, I couldn't stop thinking about Jesse McCree.
