Arixium
This was the second time, the crew of the arixium has failed to properly observe the surroundings. No one could figure out as to how to get out of this mess. the important question of getting themselves into this situation? no one had time to figure that out.
Zover was trying to look for a way out, to navigate his way out of this asteroid belt. Captain kurin was too busy with the constant damage and increasing casualties of the crew. Mohion was in deep thoughts, mostly about how he was going to die on his first adventure.
Asteroids were hitting the ship from all sides, the excitement of the mission, the thrill it gave to everyone, was now slowly fading. They were slowly, but surely, giving up.
And that's when it happened, with a flash of light, arixium was now hovering safely outside of asteroid belt. No one had noticed what happened or how it happened, they were getting caught up in a phenomenon, where fear of dying and the relief of being saved was turning into an existential crisis and sheer panic.
After a few seconds captain Kurin composed himself, and started giving a long list of orders, beginning with a damage assessment of the ship.
"But, what exactly is going on?" Mohion shook Zover who was sitting on the console with his head into his hands. " I...... I don't know, what..... Wh... ", Zover tried to make sense of the things in his head, to grasp the situation somehow.
But before he could even begin, a golden glimmer in front of the ship alerted the crew, panic slowly drifted away, an eerie silence fell upon them and then they all turned into statues, momentarily forgetting their capability to blink or even breathe.
A huge ship, about thrice the size of Arixium was now in front of them, like events that had happened till now, this ship also appeared out of nowhere. All it took was a second to turn the fear of life and death into amazement. However, unlike previous events, arixium did not felt to be in any immediate danger, not from this ship entity.
Velthunians looked at the ship, unmoving, unblinking, their hands instinctively moving to their eyes, to wipe off the tears that had started to form, unnoticed.
The ship was etheral to look at. Against the dark and cold void, this ship glimmered gold, illuminating a light of it's own, filling the dull space and Velthinians hearts with a welcoming warmth.
The ship or was it really a ship? With the almost spherical shape and something like a gold dust flowing smoothly on the surface. It seemed as if a small sun has appeared in front of them, but instead of the dull stars, they were used to seeing, this entity was bright, glowing, not exactly blinding them, but entrancing them, somehow making them long for it.
A beep from the computer surprised the crew, some even jumped from the shock. "Captain, I... It's a message" An Ensign composed himself and informed captain . Captain Kurin tore his eyes from the Ethereal entity, ethereal entity? Yes that was what he was calling it for the time being, as it seemed more than fitting.
"What is it?" Captain Kurin asked, guessing beforehand, that it must be a reply from an Velthunian ship from the earlier distress call.
"It seems", ensign struggled, his eyes wide, " It's from..... that", Zover finished for him, staring straight at the ship.
Even the word "shocked" Couldn't describe, what they were feeling at the moment.
Captain Kurin, somewhere terrified but still hopeful in his heart, wished this ship to belong to the same beings of whom they had found an entire planet. Mostly his hope was placed on the wish of the entire crew, that whatever or whoever these beings were, they were peaceful, because no matter how advanced or developed Velthuna was, it still felt puny in front of this one single entity.
"Play it", captain Kurin swallowed hard, while the crew waited intently.
After what felt like years, came a soft smooth voice almost melodic voice, which spoke in perfect Velthunian.
" Greetings, Velthunians", this was the moment, that the crew started praying. For if these beings knew their language, then they probably knew everything about them, for language is half the culture in itself. And now the Velthunians desperately hoped for peace, because it was the only thing that they could hope for..............................................................
