Andy; "Come on we're going to be late"
Robert; " well you go, you know we can't see coming into the station together"
She hated the words that left his mouth. It was true until the plan doing something about their relationship that what has to do.
She went to walk out the door,
Robert; "are you forgetting anything?"
Andy; "don't think so, what did I forget."
Robert; "my kiss."
Andy; "I'm sorry I just hurry so I don't be late"
Robert; "your boss won't be there yet so no need to worry and I have a meeting so I won't be there till later".
Andy; "what meeting"
Robert;" I don't know myself I was told last night."
Andy; "ok well I'll see you later then"
The meet took a very long time it was about naming a new captain they all knew that andy Herrera was brilliant at her job and that the position is hers if she wanted it.
Robert did not doubt that she wanted this job but what happens about their relationship.
Robert; I'll speak to her and I'll get back to you're told the chief.
For the rest of the day, Robert was quiet. Andy knocked on the office door. He was in the bunk so she made sure the door was locked.
Andy; "I haven't seen you since you came back. Did everything go alright at the meeting?" She asked as she laid down next to him.
Robert; "it was ok, I just... We need to talk but I don't want to talk tonight. Can I come over tomorrow?"He asked
Andy; "does that means you're not coming back to mine tonight". She asked as she started to kiss his neck.
Robert; "I need to do a bit of paperwork so I'll be too busy" he replied as he sat up moving away from andy.
Andy; "oh ok I'll just go then". She knew something was bothering him but for him to push her away she didn't know why.
The shift ended and as usual, if they weren't going home together she would go and kiss him goodnight but as she entered the office he was already gone which saddened her that she didn't get the chance
The night felt like it was going slow as she laid there in her bed she had messaged Robert a few times but she had no reply
Robert was the same couldn't sleep he had to break up with andy so they both can have her promotion but he didn't want to lose he loves her too much if only there was another way
Throwing back the covers on his bed he got up putting on a pair of joggers and a t-shirt went downstairs picking his keys up and then left the house. Baring in mind it two-thirty in the morning.
He knocks on her door lightly just in case she was asleep but she wasn't and she heard the knock.
Going to open the door she sees him standing there.
Robert; "I'm sorry this couldn't wait and I know it's stupid I clock in the morning."
Andy; "what is it, what's happened"
Robert; "my meeting this morning was about you becoming Captain. If you come captain we can't be together and I want you to have this captain position."
She didn't say anything she left the door open but walked toward the stairs to sit on them. Robert stood there for a few minutes then turn around and walked back to his car.
From that morning they could barely talk to each other.
They hadn't spoken more about it, in fact, they hadn't spoken to each other since that day.
Andy has always wanted to become captain even though she had a chance but her father stopped her from getting it.
It had been five weeks since he had told her, five weeks she had become captain of 19. Some parts were fun and some parts weren't she also found out that she was 8 weeks pregnant.
Robert went into work one morning, the captain office door was open so he went in to check to see if everything was alright when he heard her being sick.
He stood there, for a few minutes as she turned around she didn't want him to see her like that so she slammed the door.
He wants to be there for her, of why she was being sick.
The best way if he wants to be with her is to change station leave 19.
Finishing later one evening thinking everyone had left Andy met up with an old friend Ryan, coming out of the station throwing her arms around his neck and kissing him on the cheek.
Andy; "I'm so glad to see you she said."
Ryan me too now tell me everything we have a few days before I go back home. The last time I knew you were with the man you fell in love with so how's that going.
Andy; "you know what I think I'll pass on this catch up". She didn't want to talk about her and Robert. It's still an open wound and it's still hurt talking about it.
Ryan; knew her so well, come let's go for pizza.
Taking his hand they walked across the street to the pizza place.
Robert saw it all and got the wrong end of the situation.
Andy; "so how are you and Jenna asked her to marry you yet, is there any little Ryan due yet."
Ryan; "me and Jenna split but I'm now with a women name Hayley and I don't think we are at the point of marriage or babies yet" he smiled.
"Now I've answered your question your turn what happened between you and the handsome cute guy that you keep saying."
Andy; "My job is what I've wanted to do carry on climbing up the ladder and now I have this chance and I don't want it. I don't want it because I can't be with Robert and I'm having his baby which he doesn't know because we ain't talking. And I miss him so much"
Ryan; "I'm so sorry, couldn't one of you transfer to another station. Are you going to keep the baby"
Andy; "I don't think he wants me now he's battalion and I don't know Ryan, I'm going midwife later and talk about options."
Ryan; "there's a baby involved you two need to talk soon rather than later."
Andy enjoyed having Ryan with her for a few days it made her feel a little bit better but then she had to go to work.
Robert; "A word in my office now." He was angry how could she go from being with him to straight into someone else his arms.
Andy; she goes to his office, "you wanted to see me."
Robert; "your clothes packed in that bag down there, I don't need them in my house now we ain't together and you're with someone else."
Andy; "who am I seeing now then"
Robert; don't play I'm going to deny everything because I saw you kissing him on the cheek walk to your favourite pizza place yesterday."
She laughed
Andy; "I'll take my clothes but so you know the guy you saw me with yesterday is my best friend and I haven't seen him for 7 months."
She was pissed the whole day, the team couldn't do anything right and the team started to hate captain Herrera as the shift finished she got her stuff and headed for the shower not looking where she was going and bumped straight into Robert. Her stuff went flying to the floor her bag content scattered on the floor. He tried to help but she wasn't having any of it.
He walks away with an envelope.
I can't do this anymore, I should be enjoying being captain but I hate it. I miss Robert, I miss being in his arms. The envelope dropped to the floor as another piece of paper falls out.
