"Hey, can you light my cigarette?" I said while approaching the stranger that is probably in the same age as me.

 He stood there shocked.

I'm young, I'm only 11, turning 12 in the upcoming September. He's probably wondering or worse–disgusted, because I smoke at a very young age.

 I sighed.

"Please?" I said in my most pleasing tone. I couldn't really see his face. How unfortunate.

"Okay, I think I have a lighter with me. I am NOT a smoker tho." He said while reaching to his backpack.

"Anak sino yan?" A sophisticated woman approached the boy.

"Ah, wala ma. Friend ko." He lied. We didn't even know each other's name.

"Oh, okay. I'll wait for you in the car okay?" She stated sweetly.

I stood there looking at them, not able to see the boy's face because he's back is still facing me.

I've always wondered what it feels like to have a loving mother. Does that make you happy? Does having a complete family makes it easier to adjust? Do they always take care of you? Do they even scream at you? Are they always sweet? Loving? Caring?

Questions filled my mind as I stare onto them.

He nodded then proceeded to search again.

 I waited there patiently.

 He finally faced me.

Fascinating. That's the only word I can possibly say as I trace his perfect features with my blank eyes.

His eyes are hazel with emotions that are clearly strange to me. Happiness? Is that what you call it?

"Hello?" I snapped back to reality when he reached to my shoulder.

 I flinched.

"Uh yes?" I replied, still mesmerized.

"Light your cigarette?" He asked while flashing his bright smile.

"Oh, sorry. I was preoccupied. Uh, yes!" I then grabbed a stick and then lightened it with his lighter.

"Thank you!" I said while slowly waking away. I then slightly waved my hand to him.

I went to the family car and grabbed my self a pack of strawberries and condensed milk. I just finished smoking so as usual, I'll eat strawberries. We then headed home–no it's not home. Its a mansion. Just a mansion.

"Cygel! Saan ka ba galing?! Tangina mong bata ka! Sakit ka talaga sa ulo! Pabigat ka na nga, mag re-rebelde ka pa?! Aba puta–" My mother, surprised me with a nice greeting.

"Sorry, ma. I just went to the library. Nag-review lang ako. Malapit na kasi yung entrance exam." I replied calmly.

"Wala akong pake! You're a daughter of a count so act like one!" She then exclaimed.

"And you are the wife! So act like it too! Have some class!" I fired back.

I snapped back to reality when I  heard our dean squirm in anger.

"All of you! You're all failing! This is your last year in Junior Highschool! Bakit ba kailangan nyo pang mag bulakbol?! Hindi ba pwedeng mag-aral nalang kayo nang mabuti?" The curriculum dean said while in fuming anger.

"We're really sorry, Dean. We were set upped. They did this becau—" The dean cut one of my classmate off.

"Enough with that, you! Yes, you students are doing a thesis study and will be presenting it infront of the school board members. I want it to be perfect. No failures. Now go! I'll give you a month to do it! You're all dismissed." He said in conclusion.

All five of us went outside and then talked about the project."We'll meet tomorrow at the park then we'll find a study room/ house that'll fit us all." Daniel one of my classmates said.

 "Ok."

 "Alright."

 "Cool."

I just replied with a hum.

"So we're all set?" He asked again.

All of us nodded, agreeing with him.

"Where's Ethan? He's 10 minutes late!" Ant ranted while glancing at his watch.

"You guys, I'm here! I'm really sorry for being late. The family car got trouble and is needed to be fixed so I got to take public transportation." He explained.

"That's alright, now we need to get going." Miko informed.

We headed to the suggested places for studying and we found a cozy apartment. It was black and white and is completely neat. I like it.

I texted Mama that I'll be staying here for a month or two. I-nextend ko na, ayaw ko pang umuwi.

Mama:Sige lang, basta pupunta kang Spain after Highschool. I don't want to see your sinful face anymore.

Due to irritation, I turned my phone off. She hated me. Tangina.

I got up and went outside, pulling a cigarette stick and lightning it up.

"That's bad for you, ya know?"
