Lexi rose from her bed, yawning and stretching. "Finally!" Lexi exclaimed and looked at her calendar. "Pride month!" Lexi said, then put on her special pride shirt and headband. She dashed to the top of the stairsteps, then casually started her day. "Good morning, sugarbunny!" Lexi's Mom said, "I made just a fantastic breakfas-" Lexi ran to mom, "Ta-da! Guess what I am?" Lexi exclaimed. Lexi's Mom face went from excitement to a frown. "Lexi... What do you mean..?" Mom asked. "I'm... Lesbian!" Lexi exclaimed.
Mom gulped and made a fake smile. "Yay..." Mom said, then sighed. "Honey, listen... I know I said I'll be supportive, but I meant that for if you come as straight or something that can include liking guys.. Not full-on girls." Mom said with a slight frown. "I don't want to have a... lesbian daughter... I'm sorry, but it's disgusting." Mom said with an honest opinion.
Lexi was shocked and filled with sadness. Lexi started tearing up then ran outside to her best friend's house, which was next door. "Kate! Please.. let me in..." Lexi shouted while crying. "Lexi?" Kate opened the door and asked. "I'll explain later, just please let me in..." Lexi begged. Kate nodded and grabbed Lexi's arm and pulled her in. "Let's go to my room and you can explain, okay?" Kate said, walking to her bedroom.
"What happened?" Kate asked, sitting Lexi on the bed then sat on the bed too. "I told my mom... and she said she didn't want me as a daughter." Lexi said. "Oh my gosh.. I'm so sorry." Kate answered, then hugged Lexi. "It's okay... You can hang with me until you feel better or until you get a dorm or house." Kate said trying her best to cheer up Lexi. "That sounds good..." Lexi replied.
The Next Week
Lexi woke up and prepared for school. "Wake up, Kate!" Lexi whispered in Kate's ear. "C'mon! School is going to start soon!" Lexi then shouted, giving a shove to Kate. "I'm awake!" Kate responded, rubbing her eyes. "Crap. School..." Kate said after looking at her clock. Kate got ready and then drove Lexi and herself to school. "I heard there's a new student that's coming to our school. Guess what? They're also coming to all our classes except science!" Kate exclaimed as she was driving. "I hope it's a good looking boy." Kate teased. Lexi rolled her eyes, "Whatever.." Lexi said. "We're here!" Kate said, then immediately afterwards, got out of the car.
Lexi headed towards her locker and took out her history book. She then headed to history class. Just as she got in the bell rung. "Good morning, my history students! Today, you all have a new classmate. They will be here shortly, for now. Pull out your history book and flip to page 451." Mrs. Hart said. About 3 seconds after, the new student entered the room.
