Tom had not been home too often in the past few weeks, so you decided to do something sweet for him in order to make him feel your love. Since you couldn't call him that much due to the fact that he was always on set and you couldn't see him whenever you liked because you had to work during the day and he came home late at night, you thought about cooking him breakfast. But you weren't that well at cooking and you also were too sleepy to wake up early in the morning to cook him something, so you changed your mind. You thought about writing him some poems, buying him gifts, sending him flowers on set, but you didn't know why all of those things seemed not to work quite well for you. But then, the idea finally popped up in your mind: post-its. It wasn't something elaborate such as a poem or a cupcake, but it was enough cute and you could write something whenever you had the chance to do so. So, that's what you did.

One night, you left the bed you shared with Tom while he was sleeping in order to write a lot of them. You wrote a lot of cute faces and small drawings too next to your sentences. Every post-it was colored: pink, yellow, blue, lilac, green. When you were quite satisfied about your job (and it was also 4 AM), you picked each one of the post-its and hid them somewhere in the house, in Tom's backpack and even between his clothes! He would have been glad to find them, you just knew it. You smiled at yourself into the mirror, before you got to bed again next to Tom. He mumbled something, then he held your waist with his arm and you fell asleep instantly into his arms.

The day after that, you woke up scared, because you were already late for work. You gave Tom a quick kiss on the cheek, then you prepared to run away.

When Tom woke up, he didn't find you next to him. He had a day off, so he could enjoy staying at home with Tessa and relax a little bit. He still missed you. He could smell your perfume on your pillow, that made him think how much he wanted to spend some time with you again, but your schedules didn't want to meet in any way. He nuzzled your time, but something sharp hurt him. When looked at it, he found a post-it on the pillow, written by you, apparently:

Good morning, my love!

Since it seems that it's hard for us to talk, I decided to leave you some post-its here and there to remind you how much I love you.

Have a good day off!

Tom instantly smiled at it. It was the sweetest thing you could do for him. He went to the kitchen to make some tea in order to function properly that day and when he approached the box that contained all the tea bags, he found another post-it. He read it as he warmed the tea:

I bet that you're already making tea for breakfast. You're such a British boy!

Tom chuckled, murmuring to himself: "Well, it's five o'clock somewhere, right?" Then, he kept reading:

Now you're probably thinking: "It's five o'clock somewhere, darling". I can even hear your accent right now. Love you though, x.

He burst into laughing, surprised. You knew him so well!

He spent an hour playing videogames, while Tessa was laying at his feet, but suddenly, the curiosity won over him: he had to find the post-its. All of them. And that's what he did. He looked for them everywhere: in the shower, in the drawers, under the couch, in the closet, on the ceiling, on the floor, hidden in the fridge, literally everywhere. At the end of the day, when you came back from work, you found him still searching them. A lot of the post-its were on the kitchen table, though. You even saw them before you could see Tom, who was crawling in search of the other post-its.

"Tom?" You asked, confused.

He suddenly stood up, looking at you like a child who had made a prank. His cheeks were colored red.

"Hi, darling," he said. "Did you just... come back from work?"

"Yes," you answered, trying not to laugh. "What are you doing?"

"I... I'm... uh... backup question?"

After you laughed together about it and he said that he really loved your surprise, you two spent finally the evening together, talking about a lot of things during your dinner. When you woke up, he was already gone. A mix of sadness and melancholy hit you without warning. You still missed Tom. It felt like nothing had changed.

You went to the kitchen, then opened the fridge and found something that made your heart beat again:

Good morning, my beautiful darling!

I know that you feel sad, but please don't. Always remember that, even if I'm not there with you, wherever you may be, I love you. So so much. Save a cup of tea for me, I'm coming back early today.

Tom x

Well, perhaps something had actually changed, after all.
