Chapter One

Chapter One

With tears strolling down her face, Hazel Grace Lancaster wakes from a deep sleep! Drowning in tears, she gathers her things for her oxygen tank! She runs downstairs to her parents room! She wakes her mother immediately and her mother jumps out of bed to make sure Hazel wasn't having trouble breathing ,but ever since Augustus Waters died it felt like she was already dead!                     

Chapter Two

4 days before Issac's funeral, Hazel was at the funeral home visiting the love of her life, Augustus Waters! When she got back home she went upstairs to shower! When she got out of the shower, her parents were sitting in the living room in complete silence! With a tear rolling down her face, Hazel's mother gives her the news! " honey, your father and I need to talk to you. Issac passed away today. We got the call while you were visiting Gus!" I run to her and she cradles me in her arms! My mom barely making out what I can say, I ask my mom "Why?"! At this moment Hazel is really feeling like a grenade! My father smoothing my hair, tells me that he is sorry even though he didn't do anything! "It was all my fault!" Even thought it wasn't!

Chapter Three

Days passed after the funeral. My life was falling apart piece by piece by piece. The next day I woke up at 2:34 am and I couldn't catch my breath! My mother runs upstairs with a paranoid look on her face! My father picked me up, carried me downstairs, and lied me on the couch while my mother called the ER and the ambulance came to get me. It took them long enough! By the time I got to the hospital, I had half a liter of fluid in my lungs! After I woke up, my mom told me that I was in the hospital and that it was nothing major.

They had just hooked me up to a tube like always! Feeling drowsy, I slip back into a deep sleep.

Chapter 4

When I wake, My mom and dad are gone so I just thought that went to get lunch! But what they really did was go buy me a big box of chocolates! I was so happy! That day, I go home and I rest for a few minutes and then my mom said we were going to go to dinner at Mintees, a Japanese restaurant, and then go to the mall! Every time we got in the car I thought about Gus and the first time we met!

Chapter Five

On our way home, I start feeling queasy and carsick! We stop at the gas station and I run to the bathroom! I don't vomit but I still feel sick! We get home and my mom showers! When she gets out of the shower, her and dad tell me we are going to NYC!! They talked to the genies and the doctors and they said it was fine! They also said we were leaving tomorrow!!

Chapter 6

The plane trip reminded me of Augustus and how we watched movies and how we had a great time in Amsterdam! He was the love of my life! I fell in love with him the way you fall asleep, slowly and then all at once! I imagined a future for us! I got teary-eyed just talking about him! On the way to NYC I fell asleep and when I woke they said we had about 3 hours left! So I played on my phone! As I scroll through my pictures, I find a picture of Gus and I set it as my background! He cared about everyone and I killed him!

Chapter Seven

At our hotel, we unpacked and got ready for dinner. They actually had a fancy restaurant similar to the one Gus and I and at! You will never believe who I saw! PETER VAN HOUTEN!! He looked much older and he even looked drunker than usual. He said he was there because he was looking for Lediwig! He proposed to her last year at St. Matthews National Park in Paris,France her favorite place. When we finished talking, he stumbled out the door and onto the streets!

Chapter Eight

The trip was wonderful and Hazel had a ton of fun but the fun was over when Hazel had too much liquid in her lungs and had to go to the hospital. The doctors came out hours later to talk to the grieving parents. Dr.Claire announced, "Hazel Grace Lancaster of Vermont has passed away at the Vermont Memorial Hospital on July 8, 2014. We tried every thing we could but it was too late!" My mother falling to my father's shoulders and crying! My father tries to comfort her by telling her that I am with Gus and Isaac now and that I am in a better place! Nothing worked , but it was the end of Hazel Lancaster! The cancer had spread to my bones and I couldn't walk and I couldn't breathe because of the liquid and fluid in my lungs. I am with Augustus now, and now we can live our lives together!
