Mario can't help but breath a sigh of relief, knowing that she was out in the open with such a handsome guy, for some reason it put her at ease and she couldn't really explain it. "So, uh...how long have you, um, liked....having pets?"

"Umm," he watches her, seeing how  her eyes darted between the areas and eventually settled on a window where the jewelry shop was. "Not very long, actually. I just usually like fucking around and if I like them enough, I usually stay."

Usually? Mario continues to stare at the diamond choker in the window but it was fucking two hundred dollars, so her eyes break away. "So, does that mean I'm your first? Like first serious pet?"

"Yeah, pretty much," He laughs as they cross the street and make it to the opposite side with the park. It was starting to clear out, especially since the lunch rush was coming to a close and the parents were herding their children out. She can't help but smile at the little girl who's gapped tooth smile catches her attention and she waves, making Mario wave back and the little one giggles, skipping away. "I fucking hate children..."

"Don't say that!" She silently scolds him and he holds up his arms in deflection. "Kids are loud and obnoxious and gross and sticky...I wish I could sugar coat it but I can't!" She laughs, eventually sitting down next to him and containing to stare. That childhood innocence that she saw before her...she really wished she still had it and could be as close with her parents as these babies were with theirs. "Well yeah, they can be. But at the same time, they're just babies, it's not like they know any better. I'd honestly give anything to get back the happiness I had before when I was younger and didn't feel like this."

"Like what?" She sighs, looking back up at Michael, rubbing her arms and trying her best to smile. "Like shite. Like I'm not myself when I'm actually around my momma and papa." he smiles back at her, hoping to keep her smiling longer and she nods. "It's okay though, and I'm honestly trauma dumping, so we should probably just...change the subject."

"Well I mean, the whole point of this date was for you to get used to me, right?"

"Well yeah, but..."

"But what? Something you wanna tell me?" She looks up at him and he looks down at her, unaware that the reason he found her so pretty was because of her eyes. He knew she couldn't, but he wanted her to stare at him forever. "Is there something wrong?"

"No, I just don't like the way you part your hair."

"Wait, what's wrong with my hair?!"

"You just have it parted weird!" She reaches out her hand to demonstrate all while Michael can't help but scoff. "I've had my hair up like this for years, thank you!"

"Years? You mean you do this ugly hairstyle on yourself for years?" He laughs, knowing that he probably wouldn't ever change how he did his hair, even if he started balding, but it wasn't really a choice, just a quick way to do it. "Why are you so worried about how I do my hair?! Yours is nice anyway so why do you care?"

"Well because I actually take time with how the top of my head looks, why don't you?"

This was really nice, she thought to herself, watching as Michael's smile could only grow wider and he struggles to breathe after all the chuckling he was doing. "You know," he coughs. "You're actually really funny when you try to be."
