F-15s roared over head in a Flying V formation as they were loaded with bombs designated for the Chinese capital of Beijing. The once proud city of the Chinese country now laid in ruins as fires spread throughout it and AA fire shot out into the sky.
China's last city that was not yet fully occupied by the Americans and their coalition allies. It all started with the 'failed' invasion of Taiwan as the Taiwanese military was able to hold out long enough for the United States Navy joint with the JMSDF and South Korea Navy to send their response and push the Chinese out of Taiwanese waters.
The event triggered a domino effect as the North Koreans began to assault on South Korea through the DMZ and shelled the city of Seoul. India and Russia suddenly declared war against China and formed a joint coalition with the United States, Japan, South Korea, and the now relieved Taiwan. The war greatly caused a negative effect on many nations' economies that would take months to stabilize but plans were already in the works for aftermath of the war.
The UK, France, Germany, and other EU allies joined in on the Coalition along with Canada, Vietnam, and Australia as the joint nations quickly overran the Chinese defenders and hit key locations and areas of importance with precise missile attacks. Somehow nuclear missiles were not involved so far. But that was expected to potentially change near the end of the war as the communist controlled China was now getting more desperate.
Eurofighter Typhoons escorting Panavia Tornados flew over the position of a squad of US Army Rangers and their armored support consisting of a single M1A3 Abrams equipped with the SEP v4.
The A3 was a new step in revolutionary design in the Abrams family with many upgrades to the tank's systems and main power plant, now replaced with a hydrogen turbine engine. With the potential risk of oil now soon to become scarce, the military decided to make a tank engine that literally ran on water, taking the H2O and splitting it off to combust the hydrogen and released oxygen on the emission.
The tank was armed with the new American licensed produced Reinmetall Rh-130 L/51 130mm smoothbore gun replacing the old Reinmetall Rh-120 L/44 120mm smoothbore gun, two M300 machine gun replacing the aging M240 machine guns at the loader's hatch and coax, a CROWS system with dual M2 Browning .50 caliber is machine guns, a single M2 Browning mounted as a secondary heavier coax, a soft and hard kill APS, and a vehicle-mounted Hellfire launcher on the left side of the turret.
A mine plow had been installed at the front of the tank which became standard for any tank units fighting in China as the Chinese were later know to be heavily utilizing mine fields against coalition armored forces. The tanks were also standardly installed with a new hydropneumatic suspension system to allow for easier maneuvering and positioning within the Chinese territory.
The Ranger squad made of ten highly well trained soldiers were positioned around the tank on foot as they advanced further into the city as gunfire and explosions erupted from multiple locations around their positions.
Other units of allied forces were nearby as well, clearing out the ruined city of enemy forces that were still at large. Most of time however they weren't encountering military as much as they were encountering small groups of civilians who had now lost everything as a result of this war and were left scouring about in the ruins to things like food, water, and medicine which had become very scares for them since the Chinese government confiscated almost all of those items for military use to supply their soldiers.
One thing was for sure, this war was soon about to finally come to a close. From Hong Kong to Beijing, the war was nearly over after almost eight months of fighting from multiple fronts.
"I feel bad for the poor bastards living here now." Private Jackson said as he watched a Chinese woman carrying her young baby in her arm. "I second that little brother." Jackson's brother Corporal Markus added. "This war has completely fucked with their lives."
