Kian's POV

I stare in the mirror to make sure I look okay, or at least decent. I see Sam in the mirror behind me, also in his graduation robe.

"Checking yourself out?" He laughs at me.

"Uh, no." I reply, embarrased. I run my hands over my robe to make sure there weren't anymore wrinkles.

He walks up behind me and bumps his shoulder into mine. I move to the side to give him some room.

"So, Madison." He smiles at me in the mirror. I look down.

"What about her?" I ask running my hand through my hair.

"Are you finally gonna talk to her?"  He asks while smirking at me. "Kian, it's been four years since you planned on talking to her, today's your last chance."

I nervously rock back on my heels and stare at him without lifting my head. I could tell he was getting annoyed at me for not talking to her. It's true, this girl has always had my affection but I'm too scared to let her know. Maybe it's the thought of being rejected, or maybe the thought of losing her in the future. All I know right now is that if I don't talk to her, I won't end up getting hurt. It's a win win.

"I mean, it's hard-" I start to explain.

"-Dude, it's not that hard to walk up to a girl and talk to her.." He stops fixing his hair and stares at me. "You need to grow a pair and just say 'Hello there beautiful, I'm Kian Lawley and I am madly in love with you.' It's not that hard"

I look at myself in the mirror for the last time and take a deep breath before I walk out the room.  Sam follows me. We walk down to the kitchen and I grab my cap. I turn around to look at him before I explain the situation.

"You make it sound so easy. It's not just me but also the fact that her brother died not too long ago and now everyone's trying to become her close friend," I take the cap and place it on my head, trying not to mess up my hair.  "I don't even have a chance."

He grabs his and does the same. We move out to the deck where our moms and families are hanging out.

I see my mom in the group of people, she looks at me and her eyes grow big. She walks up to me and covers her mouth with her hand, I can tell she wants to cry but she holds it in.

"Oh my! Look at my handsome boys!" She brings Sam and I into a hug, she shakes us around a little bit until she finally releases us.

I laugh and look at Sam then my mom. "I think we should leave, the ceremony starts in an hour."

"Mhmm," Sam nudges my shoulder, "want to get there early, huh?"

I look at him quickly wide eyed and then at my mom. "Shut up!" I whisper quitely at him.

 **

We walked to the ceremony place, since it was only a house away from mine.

Our families find their seats and Sam and I walk down to ours.

I see Madison threw the crowd, her brown hair reflecting off the sun.  Her smile grew as she sees me looking at her.  I quickly look at the floor, before she sees me staring.  I swiftly move next to Sam and sit down.  "When are you planning on talking to her?" Sam asks as we sit down in our places, "I don't know yet, dude." I say as I look down at my black shoes.

The ceremony starts with many tears, tissues and hugs. They call everyones name, including mine.  As we end I walk towards my mom, who of course is crying. "Awe! I'm so proud of you!" She says as she squeezes me into a huge hug.  I smirk and hug her tightly. We take so many photos, everyone with me and Sam.

As we start to leave I see Madison standing there with her dad and friends.  She sees me and waves, instead of looking away, I wave my hand and smile.  She moves her hair behind her ear, before her dad pulls her over to take some pictures.

Sam comes next to me, pushing my shoulder, "It's your chance dude, go." he says as he shoves me.  I take two steps forward and turn back, I shake my head back at Sam who's nudging his head over to her.  I turn my head to look at Madison, she's taking pictures with her friends.

I slowly walk up to her, she finishes her last photo and her friends and dad start to walk away.

"Oh, hey," She says, waving her hand.

"Hey," I say stating it more like a question then statement.

Madison smiles and looks down at the grass, she starts rocking back on her heals.

"You do that too?" I ask, forgetting I was talking to a girl.

She stops and looks up at me, "What?"

"You know, rock back on your heels when you're nervous," I smirk,

"And, what makes you think I'm nervous?" She pulls her hair behind her ear, again.

"Uh..I mean...you...no.."  I say as I bite my lip.

She laughs, "It's fine, but why'd you come here?"

"Oh.. Uh, I wanted to tell you I like your..robe.." I look at her robe, the same as mine.

She looks down at her robe, and at mine, "we're wearing the same thing.."

I smirk and bite my lip, we both laugh at the stupid thing I said.

"Kian! Come on, our reservations are at 5!" I hear my mom yell from the bleachers.  I look over and wave my hair, gesturing to give me a minute.

"Well, I have to go but..I'll see you around?" I manage to say over all the feelings in my body,

"Yea, sure." Her tongue sticks out alittle of her mouth as she smiles, "see ya." She waves and turns around to her family.

As I walk back to the car, I see Sam.  I already know 20/100 questions he's going to ask me.
