I opened the brown envelope only to find a file with all the info about the con Laurent was talking about

'just what I expected' I thought to myself

I took my time to go over the file, more than twice, checking out all the details clearly. Its not like I was actually thinking of taking him up on his offer but I have to admit I kind of missed the thrill of barely pulling off a con, but I'm a normal person now and I kind of really don't want to see Laurent's face.

The con was supposed to take place a month later in Rome, Italy. Laurent was planning to con some brat who was rich only because his ancestors were.

'I have no idea how he's gonna manage this' I sighed and walked towards the fridge to get some water.

I sat down on the couch and switched the T.V. on. I flicked through the channels until I found a channel playing reruns of oshin. I started thinking about the con and it seemed quite easy, I mean send Abby down to seduce that brat and get the money through whatever stupid plan Laurent weaves after that but I know that he won't take up a con this easy and there was absolutely no need to ask me to help at all so, there must be something more....i just have to dig deeper.

'I'll take Laurent up on his offer, not because he asked and I'm completely in love with him or whatever but because I wanna know more about this relatively easy con' I assured myself.

I sit in front of my phone, deciding whether I want to call Laurent or not. I didn't really want to but what if he thinks I don't want to work with him (I kind of don't). I tell myself enough is enough and pick up my phone and press call.

'oh, it's ringing. I thought he'd have blocked me or something after I kissed him like a total weirdo' I thought.

"hello, Laurent Thierry here" answered back a low, almost bored-sounding voice

"uh.....hi Laurent, it's me...Edamura"

"oh Edamame" Laurent answered sounding more cheerful than before. "Didn't expect a call back from you. Did you change your mind about the con" he asked sounding surprised.

"uh yeah......I kind of did."

"wait, really"

"yeah, thought I'd call you to let you know. Okaybyethen" I stuttered and cut the call.

I mentally slapped myself for smiling at his text and then made my way to my small closet to start packing.
