Runaway

I wake up to yelling and screaming,I look over at my phone it's 3am. I can tell it's my dad and his girlfriend. As I walk down stairs I hear the door slam.

"Dad, What's that all about?" I say
"She's drunk again" he says angrily.

Dad you're drunk too aren't you?

"Skyler don't worry about that, you need to get to bed you have school this morning" he yelled

"Dad it's freaking summer" I yelled back.

"Skyler you need to stop the damn back talking" he yelled

"Whatever I'm going back to sleep" I murmured

I walk up to my room and slam the door. I can't believe he is doing this. Why didn't I agree to go with my mom. I don't want to be her anymore. This is the worst place to be right now. I'm going on a walk.

I walk down to the kitchen and she my dad on the couch. I walk over to the back door and slowly open it and walk out. I start slowly jogging down the side walk. I don't live in the best neighborhood, there is a couple of drug dealers around but it's not too bad. As I walk father from my house I see a man laying in the road. Of course my first instinct is to run over and help him. I kneel down to him. He looked to be around eighteen. His eyes were open and he was blinking so what's wrong with him? I asked my self.

"Hey are you alright"? I ask him

"Yes I'm fine" he happily says.

He was obviously high on something.

"Let me help you up" I say while reaching out my hand.

He smiled and grabbed my hand. "Thanks miss" he says

"The names Skyler" I say while helping him up.

"Ashton, nice to meet you" he smiling.

He was dressed in all black. He had My chemical romance t-shirt with black jeans with converses. He had light brown eyes. His hair was blonde and kinda curly. He was fit, you could tell he worked out but he was super buff. He was tall definitely over but not to tall.

"Why where you laying in the road" I said breaking the silence.

"
I just needed to think, you know need to get away and be by myself" he sighs.

"So you lay in the road?" I giggled

"Eh why not" he laughs.

"So do you live around here?." I asked

"Yeah a couple houses down" he says.

"Same here. Do your parents know your out here?" I asked

"Like my mom would actually care." He laughed

"Ah single parent too" I said.

"Yeah,Does your parent know your out here?" He asked.

"I doubt my dad even cares" I frown.

"Hey watch out" he said as he grabbed my hand and pull me out the street.

I watched a car pass by us. The car suddenly comes to a stop. A man rolls down the window and smiles. He looked so creepy, he had these cold grey eyes that make you want to run and hide.

"We meet again Ashton" he said.

"What to you want" Ashton said greeting through his teeth.

I look at Ashton he looked beyond pissed. I realized that he still was holding my hand when he gripped my hand tighter.

"Just wanna see that pretty lady you have with you. Is that your new girlfriend? You remember what happened to your last one" he laughed.

"Ryan just go and leave me alone" he said angrily.

"No i won't" he said as he opens the car door.

"Run Skyler" he yells.

"Not if you don't" I yell as I pull him with me.

We run back towards my house. Thoughts are running through my head. Who was he? Why was he chasing us? What did he mean by his last girlfriend?
I stopped running at a house a couple over doors down from mine

"Who the hell was that?" I ask

"It's a long story" he says

"I got time" I laugh.

"Well a few years back my mom got involved with a drug dealer. She helped deliver drugs until I was old enough to drive and then they sent me to do it. One night I got I tired of it and I told my mom I was done with it. Well Ryan which was her boyfriend at the time didn't like it. So he beat me nearly to death. After that my mom left him and he has been surprising me with visits like that" he said while catching his breath.

"Oh sorry" I say

"It's fine. One day he'll leave me alone" he laughed

"Hmm seems like that won't be anytime soon" I said

"Yeah..oh shi-" he said while looking behind me

I turn around to see Ryan walking down the road.

"Hey come on" I whisper

We run into my garage and slowly walk in the door. I look around to see my dad already in bed. I lead Aston up stairs to my room. I slowly walk in and shut the door. I plop down on my bed and look at Ashton.

"Nice house" he says.

"Thanks" I laugh.

"So what your story?" He says looking at me

"Well um when I was 5 my parents got divorced. My dad stayed her in California and my mom moved to Texas. I was little and stupid and chose to stay with me dad. And ever since he has drank way to much and doesn't really care about me" I sigh

" I'm sure he cares he just doesn't know how to show it" he says sadly but with a smile.

" I just don't know how much longer I can take this" I sigh

"You can get through it, I can see that in you" he says while smiling.

I smile back at him while leaning back onto the wall. I have never let me feeling out to anyone except my Bestfriends Alex and Amber. I felt his arm go around my shoulder. I leaned into him and closed my eyes. I hardly knew this guy I just meet him like and hour ago and now he is in my room. What am I thinking but I just sat there while leaning into him. It just felt so right. I have haven't felt this way in so long, I think as I fall asleep
