A Narry "Life as We Know it" movie AU

"I can't believe you set me up like that Liam, you owe me big time." Harry scolded, as he paced around his pretty much spotless apartment, phone placed tightly between his shoulder and ear. He tugged his long hair lightly in frustration, not really wanting to hear what his best friend's excuses were, but listened anyways. "Harry, he's a nice guy...when he's not rambling about football or getting extremely shit-faced at the nearest pub and taking the fittest someone home." Liam spoke with a soft chuckle, causing Harry to scoff. "I can see why he and Louis are such good friends." Harry sighed rolling his eyes. "Hopefully, I won't see him ever again for the rest of my days." he added dramatically.

"Louis, he was fucking awful! Preppy and all, you could've  warned me!" Niall cackled, tossing back his third beer of the night, Irish accent much heavier due to the amount of alcohol. Louis gave him a look before nudging him with his elbow. "Don't be a dick, he's just...very particular is all." Louis added, laughing a little as he did. The two sat at the bar, trying to decide why the blind date had gone so wrong. "It's like you and Liam, ya know? Polar opposites, except Liam isn't a bit of a snob." -- "Harry is not snobby! He just has his life together, unlike you Lodge." Louis pointed with a laugh causing Niall to frown in return. "I do have my life together you arse! I have a job and an apartment, a pretty nice one at that, and-" Louis stopped him mid-explanation, pushing his finger to Niall's thin lips. "You know what I mean.." he sighed. Niall rolled his eyes, swiping Louis' finger from his mouth. "When on earth, are ya gonna stop calling me Lodge?"

Harry had no idea that Niall or Lodge would be apart of his best friend's life forever. He never thought he would see him every time he visited Liam and Louis, and to his upmost dismay he was there when Liam proposed, he was there when Harry planned the engagement party and of course, he was Louis' best man, with Harry being Liam's obviously. Harry smiled at his best friend as he dusted off the shoulders of his pristine, black suit. "Can't believe you're getting married before me, I'm such a better catch." Harry teased, smiling softly at Liam's reflection in the mirror. The front of their suits were only buttoned once, displaying the soft blush dress shirt underneath, which was Louis' choice and Harry had to agree, it was a great one. "Oh fuck off," Liam chuckled, turning to face him, pushing him softly. "Thanks for being here Haz, don't think I could do it without you." Liam added sappily, patting Harry's broad shoulder. "Wouldn't miss it for the world, but it does help that I'm also the greatest baker in the country and the only choice for making you guys' wedding cake. Had to repay me some how for being the counter-part to Louis' barbarian of a best man." Harry laughed having to throw in his dislike for Niall in there somewhere. Before Liam could return the banter once more, the door opened revealing the one and only, like he had just heard Harry's remark somehow. "Lodge!" Liam cheered, walking over to him with a smile. Harry rolled his eyes, turning back to the mirror to fix his tux that definitely didn't really need it. "Seems like someone's got a hare up their arse, as always," Niall mumbled as Liam pulled him into a hug. Harry couldn't help the groan that escaped his mouth and the way his eyes almost rolled to the back of his skull. "What a best man." Niall added with a chuckle eyes meeting back to Liam, "Ready just in time, your main man thinks he's ready to get the show on the road." he smiled, clapping his hands and turning on his heals and walking back down the hall. Harry smiled as he patted Liam's back, leading him in the same direction that Niall had went. "Show time."

And just as Harry expected, the ceremony was beautiful, not a dry eye in the room, even Niall shed a tear or two, to Harry's disbelief. Maybe he did have a sweet bone somewhere in his body. Liam and Louis really were a match made in heaven, Harry was happy for his best friend and his new husband, he actually thought about forgiving the pair for the awful set up with Niall years ago, because in some aspects, Harry has grown to like Niall. He still is extremely annoying and barbaric at time but, if Liam and Louis loved him enough, Harry could at least tolerate him.
