Rheagar POV
When he first walked in to the castle, he felt that the walls were watching him accusingly, as if they blamed him for the burning of Harrenhal that Ageon the Conquerer had done. Fire and blood his family had brought here. Dragons brought death here.
The tourney had began with a mystery knight who flew no banners but a laughing heart tree upon his shield. Rheagar could hear his father calling for the knights head as he unhorses knight after knight. By the end of the first day Aerys had sent him out to find this knight but he had not told his father what he had found. He knew that no one could know what he had found as he had searched for the knight of the laughing tree alone. Rheagar had always preferred to be alone.
From the moment he laid eyes upon the knight he knew that he was no knight, the helm hid long dark brown hair, the mismatched armour hid a female body. The girl turned her long face to the dragon. Her eyes were grey and hard as stone. "My lady, you're the knight of the laughing tree?" "I am, Your Grace." "Your name, my lady?" She smiled at him. "I am Lyanna of House Stark." He walked towards her and he began to undo her armour.
"If you're going to wear armour you must learn to get out of it." She wore her underclothes. "Can I give you some clothing, my lady?" "No thank you, Your Grace." She walked away from the prince. He wanted to follow the beautiful Stark girl but his vows to his wife echoed through his head. His young wife was not the beauty Lady Lyanna was but she was a good woman who had bore his child Rheanys. He smiled a rare smile at the She Wolfs wildness.
He returned to his father with the shield and a lie. In the joust he had bested Barristan the Bold and had named Lady Lyanna the queen of love and beauty. All smiles had faded and the Baratheon Lord had taken it as folly. There had been a sadness in Rheagars wife Elia. The feast was tense as Rheagar played a song so sad Lyanna had wept. That had made Rheagar fall in love with the Stark girl.
After the tourney finished the girl stayed at Harrenhal. Whilst he returned to Kingslanding with his family. The keep was a cage full of lions, dragons and spiders with whispers that came from the stones themselves. With his love for Lyanna growing, he knows he must provide a male heir. He had taken to his chamber with Elia and thought of the She Wolf as he did his duty to his wife.
As he had spilled his seed within her he called out "Lyanna" Elia had taken it as a slight. Afterwards the anger within Elia was overwelming, Rheagar knew by the look on her face. He placed his hand upon her shoulder she pulled away briskly. She told him to go to Lyanna instead. Neither of them knew that's what the Prince would do.
Soon after Elia grew big with child for the second time and after she birthed a son Rheagar was told that his Dornish wife would bear no more children. The dragon has three heads. He had thought. This combined with the love he bared for Lyanna he found and stole her away. Rheagar had never loved anything quite like music or Lyanna.
He must have three children so he took her south, the girls eldest brother and her betrothed had been so angry that they had begun a war against the Targaryens. Though the Wild Wolf and the Old Wolf never got to see battle as they had travelled to Kingslanding instead of Riverrun and doomed themselves. Rheagars father Aerys had Brandon Stark strangled and Rickard Stark cooked in his armour.
That had only fueled the flames of war. When the news reached Lyanna, she mourned but she remained strong for herself and her unborn babe. The Beautiful Dragon took her to the tower of joy where the She Wolf had given him a child born from Ice and Fire.
Eddard POV
The news of the Wolves, the Trouts, the Stags and the Falcons rebelling against the Crown had spread through out the seven kingdoms. He wanted to mourn for his lost family but he is the Lord of Winterfell. He has to do his duty, to his family and his people. The Quiet Wolf took a maiden Trout for his wife, a woman promised to his brother.
At that moment in that Sept before the eyes of gods and men he made her his Lady. They did their duty as man and wife. He went off to fight against the Dragon Kings. The rebellion won many battles. The news had soon spread of the new Lady Stark has given him a son, that gave him a happiness that would last until his last day. But when Rheagar met Robert Baratheon on the Trident a swing ended him.
Soon after the madness begins after the Stag had slayed the Dragon and the Lion slays the Mad Dragon, Daughter of the Sun and her Dragon babes. Eddard had been furious when Robert had pardoned Tywin Lannister for the murder of Elia Martell and her children. He goes further south to find his sister and soon the northern Wolves reunite.
Eddard hopes to find her safe and well but that is not the case. He finds her bloody, dying and guarded by some the best knights in the seven kingdoms. When he and his companions slay these knights and make it to his sister. The Quiet Wolf finds a babe in her arms and blood covering her.
The She Wolfs final words will haunt him to his grave. Promise me, Ned. Three of the simplest words with a harsh reality. He brings his sister home with her babe and lays her to rest with their father and brother. Her son is raised as Eddards bastard son. His trueborn son Robb is brought up with Jon. Eddard watches the heir to the seven kingdoms grow and mature within his walls, ever in fear that the boy will be found.
