Take this as a sign, that church can be for more than just worshiping the lord.
As the day ended, the church closed and Sarvente was pleased to have it be the end of the day. She loved her work but she could only take so much, and today had been even more stressful than usual. In the end of the day she knew she was the one that signed up for it and she knew it was also worth it. Nothing felt better than gaining a new member to the church.
Another thing she loved about her job was a certain someone...Someone who also tended to help around, her best friend, Ruv. Well, she hated calling him that. While it was his rightful title she knew there was something more, she just couldn't put her finger on it. She wished that she knew more about this topic, but romantic relations were never really something she cared much about until recently. So here she was...Sat at the base of the giant cross in her church. She had taken her coif off and placed it next to her on the ground, a book in her hands. Usually this would be her Holy Bible, but today it was a book she picked up at a small local store near her home. The title read A Lady's Guide To Love, and just that made her regret it.
She ran her fingers over the spine carefully before opening up to the table of contents. She had only briefly flipped through, but the book was pretty thick. She went to page 124, the heading saying How to Acknowledge your feelings in bold print. She was too busy reading through the pages to hear the opening of a heavy door, and loud boots approaching her. It wasn't until she heard a deep cough that she jumped, slamming the book shut and looking up. She sighed, smiling softly and putting the book down next to her.
"Hi, Ruv. Can i help you?" She asked softly, pushing all her long pink hair to one of her shoulders. The other stared at her blankly before sitting down next to her.
"What're you reading, Sarv?" He asked in his normal deep voice, raising an eyebrow. He could tell it wasn't her Bible, and he knew that she enjoyed reading, but the way she slammed it closed so quickly set him off.
Her face turned red, "oh, well.." Her smile turned awkward, "it's nothing" she said softly. She handed the book to him, she trusted him and knew that deep down he was a curious soul, and she'd love to fuel his curiosity. The other just raised an eyebrow at the book cover, Saying nothing
The silence wasn't broken for a few more minutes, which caused Sarvante to grow nervous. "What do you need this for?" His deep voice asked, which pulled the girl out of her thoughts.
"Just curious is all."
"You don't need to lie to me, Sarv."
"I'm not lying!"
He sighed, rubbing his forehead. "Do you like someone?" He asked, his voice blank and harsh, yet comforting to the girl at the same time. He pressed a gentle hand to the side of Sarvante's face, tilting it up so that the two could lock eyes. "Who is it?" He asked again, watching the other expression turn flushed and red.
The girl was speechless. She commonly would be touchy with Ruv, they were bestfriends after all, but something about this felt...Different. It made her feel warm inside, and now she really wished she could've finished that awful book. Maybe it would have helped, because she's completely lost right now. She instinctively leaned her head into Ruv's hand, leaning forward towards him a little. He leaned forward aswell, also confused, but knowing what he wanted at the same time. And then it happened.
They kissed.
It started tame, a small peck initiated by Ruv. But they both leaned back in, attaching their lips almost desperately. It felt as if an invisible string had been cut, some heavy weight being let off both of their shoulders as their lips moved together rhythmically. It was so...Tender. Ruv was trying to be gentle with the smaller, kissing her almost like it was the last time they would ever kiss again.
They both pulled away, panting as Ruv's free hand held onto the girls waist. They just looked deeply into eachother's eyes, the moment being broke as Sarv leaned forward to hug Ruv, nuzzling her face into the crook of his neck, her long pink hair tickling the skin of the others neck. She leaned onto him, a small smile being painted onto her face.
"It's you, Ruv, it's always been you.." she giggled softly, reveling in the small squeeze on her waist she received in response.
