 A theory!

So, are the heroes humans with super powers or just "robots"? (I have no idea how to describe what the heroes are)

 I personally think they are a mix since there were a few parts in the show.

1. The heroes can experience the freezing temperature shown in one episode. ( Except Careful since he doesn't get cold easily)

2. Happy in a few episodes is shown to be hungry like a normal human being.

3. In a certain episode, Careful and Kalo were turned into an older person with a gun. Kalo is an exception since he does have a biological mother and father, but Careful does not have one since he doesn't have one . (If this doesn't make sense, ignore this)

4. The heroes had been shown to express feelings.

5. When Doctor. H's dad was scanning Sweet. S for research ,shows that Sweet. S does have a normal female skeleton. (Season 9)

6. Careful is allergic to cats.

However, there are many scenes that show that the heroes could be unique "robots"

1. In the season 10 intro, Happy is shown to have a system in his arm.

2. When Doctor. H  was looking at Happy, his mech-stone was inside his chest instead of a heart.

There are plenty more reasons but to keep it short, this is my theory so far. :)
