"No, no I think it was the glossy elephants eye in the corner of the room. The golden hour of it gleaming to the walls of the sound upside. I know for a fact that is correct." He said.
"No! That was not it, it went like the parts of a strange doll tangling around my neck and stretching my skin till I couldn't help but drown. That is right." Alice yelled standing up from the leathered chair that held her close. Too close.
"Hm, I believe it is all your imagination dear Liddell, it goes like this: "My buckled heels hit the checkered tiles loud enough to wake up sleeping clams. The feel of my heart in sync." The owner of the orphanage said, also standing up.
"Oh, you fool! If you were me you would know wouldn't you? But you're not me so stop guessing. Your world is far different than mine. Your wonderland is not mine and mine not yours. Going to the tomorrow after tomorrow I hope I leave this today." Alice yelled getting closer to his face as to show her anger. The owner took his glasses off and grabbed Alice's face with one hand bringing her closer to his face.
"Don't talk back to me, girl." He squeezed the sides of her face harder, digging his dirty nails into the sides of her cheeks. "The rule you follow is to not defy me, not by voice or by blood and you will obey this rule. Or so help me Alice, I will make sure you see to being out on the grimy streets of this bloody town!" Alice struggled in his grip.
"Let go of me you hole!" Alice said trying to grab his hand off her face. The owner pressed her face against his and did not loosen his grip one bit. Alice bit his lip and stumbled back.
"Ouch, you little wench! I'll make sure you get a kickin' tonight!" The owner yelled, touching his lip for blood. Alice backed up and ran out of the room.
"Alice! Alice Liddel you get back here right now! Right now I said, or the world will make sure you suffer!" The owner said as he walked to the door.
"You have no parents, where will you go?!" The owner said as he got closer to the stairs, as to have Alice hear him yell.
Alice yelled back, "Wonderland." and slammed the front orphanage door.
A rat scurried out of a tipped trash can and slid around Alice's shoe. Alice screamed and jumped."If I go back?" Alice stopped and turned around to the orphanage again.
"You come back now or I will hunt you down and beat you 10 times over! You hear me Alice?!" The owner yelled to Alice with his head out of the window. Blood dropped from his lip as it was torn up. He touched his lip and covered it with his hand, with his other he made a fist and shook it at Alice.
Alice watched and grinned to herself as he shut the window and turned around stomping back to his office with his hand still on his mouth. Alice took the short sleeve of her tattered victorian maid outfit and wiped her mouth.
"Now he was not right was he, disgusting man I tell you, hm?" Alice said to herself as she smoothed her apron. Alice started walking down the cobalt street and listened to the clack of her shoes as they clicked on the ground.
