“Get off of me!” Lia screamed. Whatever it was that was attacking her was not human. In fact, it was far from it. Whatever it was, it released a deep growl from its throat. It sent chills down Lia’s spine.

It was dark, moist and freezing cold in the alleyway. In the close distance between her and the street, this thing came running at her, saliva dripping from its mouth as it closed the distance between it and Lia.

All she wanted to do was get out of her apartment for a couple of hours, away from her mother. And now, what happened at home, was happening right there in front of her; on top of her.

She was scrambling on the floor, struggling to release herself from the creature’s grip and weight. But whatever she tried, it deflected her every move with its unnerving strength.

Its claws were digging into Lia’s wrists as it held her arms down. Its legs were digging into her thighs as its knees pinned the bottom of her body down. Its breath was toxic, burning her cheeks as it panted over her face, its fangs dripping warm saliva on her forehead and nose.

Terrified, Lia began to sob. She didn’t want to die; her body was already so broken from what her mother did to her. “Please,” she begged. “I don’t want to die. I want to be strong.”

A sudden change shifted in the creatures eyes. Its eyes seemed to turn almost… human. What happened next was what frightened Lia most: it bit her on the shoulder.

An uncontrolled scream released itself from her body; the pain was excruciating. It burned right through her body and her vision went red. Unable to bare the pain, she lost consciousness.
