She couldn't believe she was doing this, and for what? If she thought about it, she wouldn't be affected if they ditched her to investigate on their own, she didn't even like hanging out with them. Well, it's not even hanging out, it's just investigation, think of it as a group project. Still, she couldn't believe that just some days ago she was the one that had control of the situation, and now it was all changing, now it was Anne, the one who told her they could be better off without her, now it was Anne, the one who said they could do this on their own, now it was Anne the one in control.

And yet you're still here, letting her do that by being here... She shook her head, it didn't matter, she was already in front of the door now and there was no going back, her hand was already knocking on the door, hoping that no one would answer it. But she heard steps coming from inside, and she heard the creak of the doorknob, taking a deep breath and clenching her fists, she took a step back. She couldn't believe she was doing this.

Marcy hated that office, for no particular reason honestly, she had a feeling, a feeling that she shouldn't be there, her mind telling her to run and get as far away from that place as possible, she tried to convince herself that her mind was playing tricks on her.

The door opened, and he was standing there, with a look of surprise on his face for a brief moment, surprise quickly became a warm but unsettling smile.

"Marcy, here to pay a visit? I wish you did this more often."

She ignored him, walking inside, her steps were doubtful and uneasy, she wanted to get out, run and don't look back, save yourself, her mind told her, but she ignored that too. Her dad offered her a chair to sit on, her legs were shaky but she declined, stating that she was fine, it was meant to be a quick visit. He insisted it was more like an order, his voice sounding confident, his eyes almost having this dark glow, and she could've sworn she saw the gem shine more than it should've.

She took a seat against her will, she didn't know why she sat down, it wasn't like she wanted to give him the pleasure of doing whatever he wanted, but she did it anyway, like most things he told her to do.
