Birthday and Independence

We celebrated everyone's birthday in our home but as we didn't knew her birth date kaka decided to celebrate her birthday on first day of Durga puja because she is the first female in our house after our mother passed away. Kaka considers her Grih Lakshmi of RC Mansion and this makes Saudamini go beyond her senses for a min or two until she soothes herself looking into my eyes. Todays on the first day of Durga Pooja our little Durga is roaming enthusiastically around in the mansion, seeing her everyone is full of the joys of spring. She is adorably dressed in Yellow saree but the purest smile on her face was making her the most beautiful person on the earth. We celebrated her birthday followed by Durga pooja rituals. Everyone gifted her something, we had good family dinner together  and Koyli escorted her to her room with all the gifts. I thought not to call her for her studies today and started reading one moral story books which is for kids. He never knew why even a small belonging of Bondita give him the natural piece of peace. He chuckled and started reading some stories with a wide smile spread on her lips. he was so engaged in those small stories that he did not noticed Bondita sitting on her study table. once that small book was finished he looked at her and went to her. Bondita, you can take a break today, I can see you are tired, go, don't worry we will cover it all tomorrow. She nodded her head and stood at her place. Sir, as your wish, because l have done my homework and nothing is pending from my side, but I am angry at you. And what made you angary at me Bondita. You didn't gift anything to me it was my first birthday after all and my Sir, didn't gifted anything to her favorite student and looked into my eyes angrily. I grinned at her cute anger and gave her my favorite ink pen. She jumped like anything and hugged me for a sec in euphoric state and went to her room. For the first time she left her study material in my study behind her back in the excitement . I kept her things on my table with utmost care but her excitement bring back my childhood memories and slept with smiles in my heart.

I knocked on Bondita's door to see if she is ready to go for college and check on her ankle's twist. She came out wearing a bright yellow saree with a little cramp on her ankle, but is looking fine by now. I am happy that her pain erased a little but still needed the support to get into the car. I am holding her hand and she is carrying her saree all way long and my eyes are fixed on her, Her plump bright red lips are shaking a little and she is saying something in her mouth. Her eyes deep brown with an extra stroke of kohl and mascara done properly on her long eyelashes can trap anyone, her long tresses neatly done in a bun with a Jasmin flowers encircling that. her face has such soothing vibes that every time l look at that I find nothing but solace. We reached till the car, I opened the door and let her sit inside. Koyli brought all the stuff and kept in on backseat. I am driving the car, but unable to concentrate as my mind is seeking  some answers from her, I gathered my courage and my lips parted to ask. Is there anything special Bondita today. Hmmm...yes! it is. So can you help your teacher remember what is he forgetting about. No! that you have to find out. Today l am not gonna help you and from now onwards you can't coax me for such little things as l am not a child anymore and blushingly smiled. It made me a little uncomfortable but I found myself grinning looking at her.

Throughout the day I tried to find out what is special about the day but couldn't at the end of the day waiting for Bondita to tell about the special thing. I waited for her about half an hour but she didn't show up. I went inside the campus there she was sitting in the garden with Abhijit. He was tucking a rose flower in her bun caressing her cheeks, he was about to touch her lips with his, on this I closed my eyes and a tear fell down from my eyes. when l opened my eyes she has turned other side and Abhijit face had a little disappointment. I felt joys but why? after all I am only her guardian. Let me go from here asap and do not think about Bondita anymore. I will wait for her some more minutes and if she doesn't come I will leave. Now she is a grown up girl now she can decide about her life and that is what l wished for her independence. I am so happy that she is getting happiness that she deserves. I was waiting impatiently when the duo came and informed me that Abhijit is taking her to his home to meet his parents. Anirudh passed a forced smile to both of them and he ignited the car's engine to let go far away from Bondita's eyes for that moment.
