"Ahh! Come on, come on, what can I use to win?" Shane Grady said as she scanned the virtual 360 degrees camera view. The gigantic 3d T-rex was chasing her and she had to think fast. Her thumb and her fingers moved rapidly over the controller buttons. Her music-note necklace swung every time she leaned forward. In the height of suspense, Shane gave out a yelp. "Woah!" she said as she tripped over a pile of bones. The T-rex was gaining on her. Every time the enormous dinosaur ran, it made a huge THUD THUD sound as it chased Shane. "What can I do? Ooh, a whistle! Where is it?!" she groaned as she rummaged through the bones. "10...9...8," The game voice counted as Shane ran out of time. "Ugh!" She exclaimed, blowing through all the bones. No sound came out. "3...2...1! GAME OVER." "Augh!" she shouted as she tossed her virtual goggles and control onto the floor. She hated seeing the red, "GAME OVER" screen. "If I just found that whistle, I would have summoned velociraptors which would jump on the T-rex, helping me win the game," she reflected as she stared at the ceiling. "Can I come in?" Shane heard a familiar voice as she turned in her chair, to see her sister Allie standing in the doorway. "What do you want, Allie?" Shane said as she crossed her arms and looked her sister in the eye. "I came in to check on you," her sister replied as she pulled up a chair and sat next to the angry Shane. "You have been playing that dinosaur game so much, Dad and I barely see you anymore," Allie explained as she closed the dinosaur game on Shane's monitor. "But, I was SO close," Shane whined as she reopened the game. "Take a break sis. Your game isn't important and-" "But, if I win, I can go to Jurassic Park, where there are real dinosaurs created from long ago!" Shane interrupted. "It was Mom and me's dream. If I could just complete that level, I can make our dream come true," Shane said sadly as she stared at the ground. She remembered her deceased mother. It's true that it has been a year since Shane's mother died. They both shared the love of dinosaurs. Allie realized that her young, 13-year old sister, needed some time alone. "Okay, I will leave you alone for sometime," Allie replied as she smiled at Shane. For a second, Shane didn't feel sad anymore. Her sister's smile filled her with hope. But, as she saw the flashing red GAME OVER screen, her blithe emotion turned to a raging annoyance. She had to do it. She needed to win. Shane glanced at a photo of her mom hugging her as they took a photo at Railway Creek. She gripped onto her bracelet. She looked at the pendant the shape of a footprint made by a T-rex. "I have to try to win." She shook her head. "𝙄 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙞𝙣." She was up all night, with the screen on full brightness, causing her to blink frequently. She dug around the pile of bones, briefly looking back at the enormous T-rex walking towards her. Quickly, she picked up a pile of raptor bones and started zig-zagging to confuse the giant dinosaur. "C'mon Shane, you got this." Shane said to herself. She clutched the controller as hard as she could, and rummaged through the bones. "It's in here somewhere!" She gaped in happiness when she found the raptor skull. She blew a high pitched sound, and many velociraptors fiercely battled the T-rex, causing it to crash onto the ground. She laughed, as she got onto the blue helicopter, and Mr. DNA came on her screen. "Congratulations, player! I'm Mr. DNA! And you're the second person to ever beat our game! So we want to reward you with a trip to Jurassic World's brand new, state of the art adventure camp, along with the first person to finish this video game!" Shane felt a pang of jealousy. She wanted to be the first person on the planet to finish the game, but she still felt excited, for she was going to Jurassic World! "I did it! Yes! Allie, Dad!"
