"Anichka I can't do this. I'm going to fail. You should find a different skating partner. You've worked so hard don't let me ruin this for you!" I said panicked, tears running down my pink cheeks. My gorgeous dirty blond girlfriend looked at me with her big green eyes and said. "You have been working since you were six years old! For god's sake you are the gorgeous Ainsley Amane. You've got this sweetheart." I looked down and smiled I could do this; I will do this. I can't stop now. I finished packing my bags and said goodnight to my friends with a huge smile left across my face. I wake up the next morning feeling refreshed and ready to get on ten-hour flight. I grab my bags and walk out the door to find my roommates already in the car. We drive to the airport in an almost silent cab. I was not surprised by the silence considering Anichka was listening to music, I was overly excited, and Samantha was nervous that Anichka or I would get hurt. I put my hand on Samantha's knee and shoot her a reassuring smile. By the time we arrived in Los-Angeles we were all fairly tired, so we walked up to my Aunts cottage type house as she swings the door open in excitement. My aunt had taken care of me since my mother died. My aunts name is Sara, she was tall and slender, she has copper hair, and she had dark green eyes. Somehow Anichka managed to escape her bear hugs and walk up to my childhood room. Her house was not small, but it also wasn't huge. She had a few pictures on the walls that I saw as soon as I walked into the house, her couch was grey and had three colorful pillows on it. I strutted up the long stairs and walked into my childhood room, it was the same as how I left it, the pink bed sheets the purple sparkly curtains over the small widows on either side of my bed. I unpack my small black suitcase and face plant into my old bed, not long after I drift into a dreamless sleep. The next day at around one in the afternoon we are waiting to go onto the ice. I'm shaking. I look down to my red and grey skates. "We can do it...We can do it...I've got this!" I say under my breath as I grab Anichka hand and smile at her. It seemed like we were on that floor for forever, but it was over so fast at the same time. After the final acts they pronounce the winners. All I heard until my name was ringing in my ear. Suddenly I hear Anichka and I's names and clapping not soon after. I soon realize that we got first. As tears stream down my face, I look down to the heavy gold object in my hand and look up smiling.
Thanks for reading and considering me as one of the ten winners for the contest this story is exactly five hundred words long not including this side note. <3
