It had been three weeks. Unfotunaetly not long enough to be successful. No matter how hard she tried, it seemed impossible for her to walk without fainting or falling halfway.

Georgie had been in a coma for the past 7 months. Doctors told her she was lucky to be alive after the car crash. She and her dog were on a road trip when a car randomly swerved in front of her and lost control. She was currently trying to learn how to walk again, successfully persuading doctors to let her try.

Beads of sweat dripped down her forehead as she took a step forward, trying again for the 3rd time after her short break. She had to get this. Georgie refused to let another day pass by with her still not being able to make it to the end of the bars.

Taking her first step forward, she furrowed her eyebrows and concentrated, trying hard to get it right this time. The nurse on the other end called her name, trying to pull her attention away from the ground and onto them. Stressed, she looked up and pushed on, making sure to put one foot in front of the other.

Right foot, left foot. Right sore leg left sore leg. Right tense arm left tense arm. She kept going for a few more steps before it became too much, causing her to stop. She closed her eyes and tried to encourage herself to keep moving, but her body didn't agree.

She ended up falling to her knees, her tense muscles suddenly becoming relaxed. A few nurses helped her back up and led her over to a bench to take a rest and get some water.

"You're doing a lot better Geo," a female nurse said. "You made it just over halfway. That's progress!" Too tired to respond, Georgie nodded. Halfway wasn't her goal though. She needed to make it to the end of the bars. At least then she would know that there was hope of her walking again soon. Today was gonna be the day, and she was gonna push herself till she passed out if that's what it took.

With a determined look on her face, she savored her resting time, hoping that the fourth time trying wouldn't hurt as much as the last two did, although she knew there was a low chance of that happening. Seven minutes later, she was back on her feet. Two nurses steadied her on one end while the other waited across from them.

This time, she was gonna succeed. This time for sure. So she took one step, and then another. Right foot, left foot. Right foot, left foot. Keep going, don't look down. Close your eyes and focus.

Then there was cheering. Opening her eyes, she saw the three nurses gathered around her. Then it clicked. She felt the ends of the bars and smiled slightly.

"Finally," she panted and tiredly hugged the female nurse.
