Confront him? How? Hey, I heard you were supposed to marry someone else but didn't because of me and now she's back, are you seeing her behind my back? or both of you are just patiently waiting for our contract to be over? I groaned, covering my face with both of my palms. I'll be hurt either way.
"WIFEEEEYYYY I'M HOOOMMEEEEEEE" I jumped in place and held my heart. If he doesn't kill me from heartbreak, he'll kill me from heart attack.
I ran back and forth from the bed, to the door, contemplating if I should go greet him or if I should pretend to be asleep. I frowned when I hear a thud and then followed by his windshield laugh. Cautiously, I peeked outside the room but he's nowhere in sight.
"Seokjin?" I called
"Presentttt!!!" I followed his voice and found him at the foot of our stairs with his hand raised, his face red and his clothes in disarray.
"Did you fall off the stairs?" I frowned some more as I ran down to assist him.
He snorted and struggled to stand up, "No, I slid down." he laughs as I caught him just in time before his butt falls back to the ground.
"You're drunk." I wrinkled my nose, struggling to assist him up the stairs.
"No no no no! My wife will be angry with drunk." He slurs "I'm just intoxicated." he sassily flicks his fringe
"There's no difference." I huffed as I guide him up, I had his arm over my shoulder and my arm wrapped around his waist
"There isss. It's classyyyyy- er" I cringed and pushed his head away since he's leaning to me and if he keeps doing it we might roll back down
"So much for coming back early." I grumbled as we finally reach the top of the stairs.
I exhaled as I push him on the bed and placed my hands on either side of my hips as he chuckles. I just stared at him and my eyes softened. Did he get himself so drunk because she's back and he can't do anything about it since he's tied to me?
"Stand up, you should get changed. You reek alcohol!" I grabbed his wrist and helped him sit up when he hugged my waist as soon as he did so.
"My wife. My beautiful wife." A simple compliment made me feel weak in my knees. Why? Why do I have to realize all of these feelings for him now? Just why? Was I born to be hurt or something?
They say drunk people spill out the truth but just because he finds me pretty, doesn't mean he loves me.
Spilling the truth... gathering my courage, I unclasped his hands around my waist and carefully kneeled so I can be on his level, facing him.
"Seokjin." I called him.
"Hmm?" He smiles at me, a hand resting on the small of my back while the other busy with tucking my hair behind my ear. Why does he look at me like I'm the most precious thing in the world?
Shaking my head, I looked at him in the eye and asked questions to make sure he's not that intoxicated that he can't state facts. "Do you know me?"
He laughs and even dared to point at me. I slapped his pointing finger and glared. "I'm serious!"
He composed himself and nodded "My beautiful wife, Joohyun, mother of my child handsome child, Hyunjin."
"Do you know where you are?" He smiles again but didn't dare laugh, "right where I want to be." My heart skipped and I groaned, burying my face at the nook of his neck, feeling frustrated. I feel the vibration of his chuckles.
I can't do this! I'm way too sober for this but I need to hear the truth. I don't want to prolong my agony!
"No no no no, you're NOT going there!" I pushed myself away from him as I feel him giving my shoulders butterfly kisses.
"I'm going to ask you questions and tell me honestly ok?"
He stared at me and titled his head at me "always." Can he not? Can't he see I'm struggling here?!
I pinched the bridge of my nose, a habit I picked up from my mom. Ok let's line up the facts first.
"Who was that girl earlier?"
"Who? Na eun?" I nodded, cause I can't say anything more.
"She's..." he tilts his head like he's trying to find the right words. "a friend."
"Did you just know her or-
"A childhood friend." Childhood sweethearts. She wasn't lying. I slowly sat on my heel and curled my fist then continued asking, looking up at him but his face is suddenly out of my view. He fell on his back on the bed.
"I'm not yet done asking questions"
"Jshsgsyuw", his eyelids were closing.
"Ya Kim Seokjin!" I stood up and slapped his arm but he pulled me to him instead and rolled us sideways, me trapped inside his embrace.
"Ya" I weakly muttered.
"Hmm?"
"We're you supposed to get married?"
"What?"
"Were you supposed to get married last year?" Heartbeat. I don't know if it's his or mine but it's all I can hear.
"Aniyo." I snapped my head up to see his face. His eyes still closed.
"2 years ago. Was suppjseheh get matmrrjed..." It was gibberish, but I could clearly hear my heart breaking. He was supposed to get married 2 years ago? That's when she came back to Korea... was he already waiting for her then?
I hear him snore and feel his arms around me loosen. I slowly got up from bed and went to hyunjin's room and sat on the floor silently crying.
"Eomma?" I quickly wiped my tears and smiled at my baby
"Did I wake you?" He pouts as he rubs his eyes.
"Crying?" I quickly shook my head no.
"Allergies." I excused, sniffing.
"Go back to sleep, I'll sleep beside you tonight." He immediately reached his tiny arms around me and snuggled in. I kept myself from crying cause he'll hear me. He may just have turned three, but my son's smart. He understands that I'm crying and he'll probably tell his dad about it.
