Senior year was starting to come to a close. Spring break just passed and everyone was trying to readjust to school life again. Before class started everyone was talking and laughing as per usual.
I was talking to my best friend Maxine, her real name is Karly but I call her Maxine because that's her last name and it has a nice ring to it. We've been basically glued at the hip since the day we met in second grade. Back then her name was still Carlos.Back then I was always alone. Since I never wanted to play tag with the rest of the kids, everyone thought I was really weird and chose to steer clear of me. I was the weirdo sitting on the bench outside, reading a book alone as usual. One day, during recess a random girl walked up to me. Back then she still looked like a boy. She stood in front of me and asked me what I was reading about. She seemed nice so I told her and we started talking. From then on the rest is history, we have been the best of friends ever since.
Just as the bell was ringing two guys walked in the class. They had to be new, I knew the faces of everyone in the class and had no clue who they were.
Our teacher, Ms. Boardhouse, was the first to speak "Oh you must be the two new students. Please introduce yourselves to the class, then take a seat at any empty desk."
