✿Firefly✿

Chapter 1

"Aesop!" I wake up with a slight jump from the sudden call of my name. I look up to see a man much shorter than I am right at the entrance of my door room, he has long pointed black wings, wearing his long hair in a ponytail to keep it from getting tangled in his wings, he also has scares covering his tanned arms that are being slightly covered by a murky green hood wearing black tight pants and tall black boots that go up to his knees.

"Yes Naib, why must you yell while I sleep? I'm trying to rest up before I have to work." I looked at him in the eyes with annoyance waiting for a response to my question.

"Relax I didn't know you were sleeping I came by because I thought you wanted to come to the lake with me before we have to start the day! I heard there are many beautiful roses that bloomed recently, I may not like flowers much, but I know you do"

Groaning from the sleepiness that still lingers, I get up and stretch
"Sure I'll tag along, now get out and let me change!" I push him out the door to get changed for the day

I walk outside my house wearing a white vest with golden laces making patterns on the edges and a golden flower in the pocket of the vest, while wearing a white dress shirt underneath, on the bottom part of my body I wear white pants with golden flower patterns on the pockets and gold around the rims of my pants finishing my look with black dress shoes.

"Lead the way Naib, you know where we are going right? I don't want to get lost that is a whole other mess I'm not dealing with."
"Of course I know where I'm going, let's say I 'borrowed' a map from Freddy!" Naib looks at me with a smirk on his face, I know he actually stole the map and chuckled at the thought.
"Mmhmm whatever you say Naib, well just make sure you bring the map back to him when we come back. Let's get going before I have to get to work!".

We finally made it to the lake, growing into our human form hiding our wings Naib immediately jumps right into the lake I shake my head in disappointment
"Naib if you get sick for being so unsanitary I'm not taking care of you!" I say looking at him swim out of the lake
"You're no fun Asoup!"
"Did you just call me Asoup?"
"....maybe-"
"I'm leaving."
"Wait noooo!"
"Fine, fine I'll stay."

I take a sit at a tree with beautiful bright pink flowers that fall with the wind onto the soft ground of grass, looking up to the bright blue sky that shines my skin I close my eyes and let the sleepiness kick in.

"AESOP! WAKE UP SLEEPY HEAD!" I jump to feet hitting my head in the process on a branch above me

"What the hell Mr.Subedar! No need to yell I'm a light sleeper." Saying that I lightly bonked him on head, until I looked at the sky and saw that it was very dark as the moon shins in replacing the sun....wait replacing the sun?"

"NAIB, WHAT TIME IS IT!? I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET TO WORK HOURS AGO?!" I looked at him panicked and dusted myself off.

"Don't worry Aesop I went to your work and told them you were having a sick day I wanted you to sleep more because I know the sleepless nights you have."
He smiles at me a sweet smile which is rare for him to do unless he actually is meaning the words he say.

"At least you checked in for me, but why wake me up now? I don't see the need to?" I look at him to answer but he wasn't paying attention instead he was looking slightly up to the sky above the lake.
I looked up to see what he was staring at, they were fireflies everywhere.

"I see you enjoy the company of fireflies Naib?" I looked at him to see he was a fairy again so he could see the fireflies better and to pet one in the process.

"Yes I do they are the only things that aren't loud and are very pretty to be around, the way they glow underneath the moon light making the water glow like it has magical powers. I like these insects more than I do people so of course I want them to be my friends." He looks at me as he lands on my hand I put out for him, he landed a firefly next to him and started rambling about how much he loves these insects, I smile.

He looked back at me noticing he was rambling, and slightly scratched his head in embarrassment.

"We should fly back before it gets to late and gets dangerous, you goofball." I look at him with a smile on my face.

"Okie than let's get going, and for your information I carry a dagger with me at all times we will be finnee!"
