Azail's POV
Yesterday Nagisa had told me Sugino had spent the whole day trying to perfect a pitching style that was unique to him for an attempt on Koro-sensei. Let's not even mention the fact Koro-sensei accidentally pulled up the flowers the other girls planted by hand. I on the other hand I was multitasking. I was not only Studying what I couldn't pick up in class but also plotting to be the first hit on Koro-sensei. This wasn't going as well as I planned due to my brain bouncing off the walls with thoughts. I was diagnosed with ADHD shortly after I went to live with my Aunt. Upon coming to Kunugigaoka I was also diagnosed with slight anxiety. It normally only ever caused panic attacks when I was stressed i.e the school tests. These two things never made it easy to function in a school like this, but I managed. Though today started off normal like any other and eventually it rolled around to gym class with Mr. Kurasuma. I didn't mind the female gym uniform so I ended up wearing that instead of the male one. Karasuma had us all practice stabbing motions. I was a bit rusty at first but in a short amount of time, everything began flooding back to me. Karasuma seemed to notice this and could tell where I was going to stand in the class.
"Make those knives sing. Treat every move like a legit kill strike." Karasuma demanded as we counted up to eight.
I began to zone out again at the synchronization. I was forcing myself to focus as well as I could. I honestly wondered at times how I even made it as an assassin. I focused back in when everyone took a break.
"Yeah, not so much. No offense or anything it's just when it comes to exercise, you..." Sugaya stated
"Set the bar kinda high." Sugino continued
I got a little bored with the conversation and started looking around that the scene. I was very calm and clear skies today. The run-down old school we learned in was still the same. That was until I noticed a kid on the taller side with red hair. He was holding a box of strawberry milk. He seemed to notice me as well and we made eye contact. His glare wasn't anything particularly out there, but it was vicious at first glance. The longer you looked and the more you focused you could see a hidden soft side. I took my gaze away and focused back into class just in time to catch a question.
"Can I ask an obvious question, sir? If there's an actual point to this training, should, uh should we be practicing in front of our target?" Maehara asked
"Whether killing or studying, it's the same principle. Drill the basics and they'll serve you well." Karasuma replied
He had a point. That's what my parents always taught me in assassination. It became so ingrained in me that I had even begun to apply it to my school work.
"Isogai, Maehara, step up. Azail I am going to call you after them so be ready." Karasuma stated stunning me a bit but none the less I began to stretch. "I want you to try to tag me with those knives."
"Wait. Like as a team" Isogai asked
"Do you think that's a good idea?" Maehara added and already knew where this was going.
"The blades are harmless. They weren't designed to injure human beings. Tell you what, manage to hit me and you can go home for the day." Karasuma explained which seemed to light a fire under the boys.
"Uh, okay. Well, here goes nothin'." Isogai said as they both got in a fighting stance.
Isogai took the first unsteady lung and missed due to Karasuma dodging. He taunted the boys slightly making Maehare retaliate with a strike. It was unfortunate for him caught and he was pushed aside. They both started striking at the same time either missing or getting deflected every time.
"See that kids. Even with the bare minimum know-how, I can practically dodge their attacks in my sleep. They've got no technique." Karasuma said
This pushed the two over the edge. They both ran for him in sync. They struck at the same time but was of course deflected. They were flipped over to the ground and knocked down for good.
