Matthew
It was exactly 6:00am, i was laying comfortably in my bed when my annoying roommate Sid walks into the room screaming at the top of his lungs in an attempt to wake me up.
"WAKE UP MATTHEW!!!"
"I'm up I'm up geez" i said seating up on my bed rubbing my eyes, still half asleep.
Despite it was 6:00 in the morning everywhere was still very dark, birds were chirping in the sky as trees danced along the cool breeze.
"We're going to be late for the assembly, you DO remember what happened last time, don't you?"
"Yeah, yeah i remember" i said getting up from my bed and dressing it.
"Goodbye my love i'll see you later" i said gesturing to my neatly made bed.
"Weirdo" Sid said while nudging me at the back with his elbow.
It was a new semester and every beginning of a new semester an assembly is held for some kind of shitty announcement no one cares about.
"I wonder what they're announcing this time" i said taking a sip out of my instant coffee.
"Probably bad news" Sid said admiring the sky.
It looked beautiful outside.
Everyone was out of their dorms walking towards the assembly room, no one bothered changing, everyone just went in their pyjamas or night wears.
"Good morning students of Riverday" principal Ackerman said as we all took our seats.
The assembly room was a big hall surrounded with seats, the roof had an opening showing the beautiful sky, the sun had finally started rising.
"Welcome back to school students, this is a new semester, the sooner we're done with this the better for all of us, regular classes start on Monday and i ask that you be friendly to our new teachers, we're also trying out new our new Riverday foreign exchange programme, remember to follow the rules and regulations, for we at Riverday boarding school...
...lead as examples" we all said in unition
"Have a nice day, you're all dismissed" principal Ackerman said while adjusting his tie.
Back at my room i collapsed back on my bed shutting my eyes without hesitation
"You have to do something about your sleep schedule Matthew" Sid said making himself toast.
"Its unfixable at this point" i said lifting my blanket up to my face, restricting me from breathing properly.
Just then there was a knock on our room door, i took a deep sigh before gaining some energy to get up and answer the door.
"Hey Chuck, what's up?" I said rubbish my eyes and forcing a tired smile
Chuck was a good friend of mine, he was average heighted with a big brain and platinum blonde hair which was always packed up in a ponytail.
"You look like shit Matthew" he chuckled using his fingers to push his glasses from his nose meeting his green eyes
"I didn't get enough sleep" i said rolling my eyes
"You should try sleeping pills, they help. Anyway as the principals assistant, he sent me here to call you into his office"
"Shit am i in trouble? Did Sid lie against me again? I swear to...
...No! You aren't in trouble, he just has some information for you" he interrupted looking at me in amusement
"Just a reminder that they are sleeping pills in the school clinic, to prevent you from going insane"
"I assure you Chuck, I'm VERY sane"
"If you say so" he said making his way back to the principals office.
I shut the door taking another deep sigh walking passed Sid who was chugging down toast and a cup of tea.
I took a shower changed into a plain black shirt and a pair of jeans and went to the principals office.
"Good day Mr Ackerman" i said while taking a seat.
"Good day Mr Macias" he said pulling out a document
"It says here that your parents approved you to participate in the foreign exchange programme"
"Is this a joke?" I said examining the document
"Certainly not Mr Macias, we have a new foreign exchange student named Bryce Xavier, you are to show him around the school, enlighten him on the rules and yunno school stuff, and make him feel comfortable, he's coming from Lakewood, so make him feel at home here in Riverday, understood?"
"Uhm yes Sir" i said still in schock, i have no idea how i got involved in this.
Just then an average heighted guy about 5'6 in height, cocoa skin and brown curly hair walks in, he was dressed in a black hoodie that had C.A boldly written on it, a pair of ripped jeans and martin boots.
"Perfect this is Bryce, Bryce this is Matthew, he would be in charge of you while you stay here at Riverday". He said while arranging the documents on his desk.
The only thing running through my mind was
I'm fucked.
